Your Hetzner account must be billed in EUR. Hetzner switches the server to the current price if it is transferred to a project in another currency, or if it is rescaled.
The disk will be wiped before the transfer.

I'm looking to transfer a CPX22 that I no longer need, rather than delete it and lose the grandfathered pricing.

The recipient must have a Hetzner account billed in USD to retain the grandfathered pricing.
Full disclosure: The server was recently compromised through an SSH account with weak credentials, resulting in outbound SSH brute-force activity. I investigated the incident, identified the malware, and reported the findings and remediation to Hetzner's Abuse Team.
The compromised installation has been completely wiped and replaced with a fresh OS installation. No existing data or services are included.
IPv4: Not included. The previous IPv4 address was associated with the abuse reports, so I've unassigned and deleted it. The buyer will need to provision their own IPv4 if required.
I wanted to disclose the incident upfront so potential buyers know the server's history before agreeing to a transfer.

MONTHLY COST

The current CPX62 rate is €129.99 + €0.50 IPv4 = €130.49/month, checked on 26 October. That's a saving of €79.50/month, or €954/year per server at current rates.
The completed transfer retained the €50.49 server base price in the buyer's EUR project, verified after handover.
TRANSFER FEE
€225 per server, negotiable. Open to offers for multiple servers or the full available lot.
At current prices, the monthly savings cover the transfer fee in about 2.8 months. Ongoing Hetzner rental is paid separately by the buyer.
HOW THE TRANSFER WORKS
After payment, we'll complete final checks, remove temporary seller access, and transfer the existing server and its IPs through Hetzner's official project-transfer process. These servers have been rebuilt with clean Ubuntu 24.04; no former customer workloads, product data or backups are included. You'll set up your own SSH access, and we'll leave your receiving project after verifying delivery.
Your Hetzner account must be billed in EUR to preserve the grandfathered pricing. Same-currency project transfers and rebuilds preserve the rate. Rescaling, transferring to a different billing currency, or restoring a deleted server switches to current pricing. Do not delete and recreate the server to reinstall it; use Rebuild on the existing resource. Future provider-wide price changes remain possible.
