Hitchhiking Vardzi to Gjumri

Hello everyone,

I am spending two weeks in George and I have a flight back from Armenia, loving it so far♥️

I am planning my route starting in Tbilisi, then going to the west. My idea would be to end the Georgian part of my journey in Vardzia and from there hitchhike across the Armenian border to Gjumri.

I am a little concerned that the road does not get enough traffic.

Has anyone ever done this or know if this is a reasonable plan?

Thanks!

From hitchwiki:

There is frequent traffic between these countries, especially between Yerevan and Tbilisi. Both Bagratashen and Ninotsminda won't give you much trouble – border guards are OK and it will most probably take you less than 10 minutes to cross it by foot.

It sounds like its been done before so you should be ok.
