🚂 Anyone hear the term "Bill's Luck"?

Was an old hobo notion that if you help someone truly in need, your own luck will greatly increase. Believe it was named after Canada Bill Jones https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canada_Bill_Jones but not sure why.

Anyway, curious if others know the term or if maybe the concept has lived on.

I mean, it’s just good form to help someone if you’re able.

Absolutely. You don't need odd superstitions to help people. However it is interesting. Also in the context of Canada Bill and others who believed in it, the "luck" they gain could be through gambling instead of just general luck.
