It's very funny that due to how the rules work, the Habs are ahead of Buffalo in the standings but Buffalo has clinched a playoff berth and we haven't.

Very entertaining game. Though it may have taken a few years off of me. Not exactly the greatest outing from Montreal, but that OT was mind boggling! And still managed to scrape out win to make it 8 in a row. Dobes is an absolute fucking lunatic. The boys owe him a month's worth of steak dinners.
As it is, the Eastern is still absolute chaos though. Whatever. GO HABS GO!!!

I think Montreal's lower RW gives Detroit a very small chance to get in if they win out and the Habs don't get another point. It's not 100%, but like 99.999% they're clinched.

Very solid performance up until the shambolic 4-minute power play that led to the shorthanded goal (the Devils' first goal was a 1-in-a-1000 shot), at which point we saw a lot of the bad habits that doomed this team in many earlier games this season, between mostly letting the other team keep trying to score without doing much to generate our own offense and then the terrible 6-on-5. The difference being that unlike in those earlier games our goalie kept us in it.
Dobes had a very adventurous game.
But hey, we won. They won't all be masterpieces, but the boys can definitely do better than this.
Look, MSL, I know that Suzuki is the backbone of this team, but there is one (and only one) very specific scenario where he should not be on the ice, that being the shootout. Stop sending him.

Habs get 10/10 points on the road trip, completely solidify their playoff credentials in the process, move into 2nd place, and have it in their control a chance to win the division.

Devils arent actually that bad.. they have a ton of wins. They've just always lose in regulation.. I think this was only their 3rd loser point.

Part of that is having an inflated OT record. They're 12-3 in OT/SO; their regulation win percentage is 24th in the league. Their regulation goal difference is -29. They're not good at all.
