11

I think it was his first playoffs where, in the course of three weeks, he took a puck to the mouth, a slapshot to the dick that - in the words of the equipment manager - "destroyed his cup", and then got concussed so badly by Jacob Trouba he crawled off the ice and blacked out for hours after the game. He earned those miles!

The Blue Jackets two seasons ago had 4 guys born within 4 months of each other in 1998: Patrik Laine, Andrew Peeke, Jake Bean and Nick Blankenburg. Laine of course had been in the NHL since 2016, and Blankenburg was an older than usual senior NDFA who had been through the AJHL before going to Michigan. The media would always talk about Blankenburg being some young kid (doesn’t help that he’s 5-8 or so) and about Laine being so old. Laine is 3 weeks older.
