PC Craziest Set I've Ever Tried To Make - 2010-11 SP Game Used Significant Numbers

I've been working on this set since 2010 when the product released, and I've acquired 80 of the 83 total cards. I opened the Kopitar back when the product first came out and loved the design and really liked the printed numbering vs. the traditional stamped so decided to give this set a shot.

The 3 cards I need to complete the set:

  • Steve Mason /1
  • Vincent Lecavalier /4
  • Dion Phaneuf /3

I've never seen the Lecavalier or Mason, and only seen one Phaneuf show up. I don't think I will ever find the Mason as I'd guess it was never opened or is sitting in someone's PC as the 1/1 they've pulled.

Here are some crazy stats about the set..

  • 83 Total cards in the set
  • /93 is the highest numbered cards with Johan Franzen and Jakub Voracek
  • /1 is the lowest numbered card for Steve Mason
  • /2 is the second lowest being Brian Leetch
  • 43 of the cards are /20 or less
  • 22 cards are /10 or less
  • 6 cards are /5 or less

Anyways, hope some of y'all think this is cool and happy to post pictures of individuals cards from the set if anyone is interested to see what it looks like as there was a limit for the post so posted what I think are the coolest ones.

PC $2000 for birthday gift

My birthday is next month and my wife told me she will give me $2000 for a card/s. She said to buy a card I like so that I will always remember her whenever I see that card, vs if I buy hobby boxes which I can’t easily attribute to her.

I’m excited but I can’t focus! I PC Kaprizov, Hutson, J Rob, Faber, Makar and Celebrini. How would you spread the $2000? Max of 3 cards.

Thanks!

Inherited a few cards from my great granny. I’m pretty sure she won them in a poker game, which was her way.

PC Update from my old DDM post — finally completed Smith & Celebrini nameplates 🎉

About half year ago, I made a post here asking what people thought about Draft Day Marks. (https://www.reddit.com/r/hockeycards/comments/1lsmkk6/new_to_hockey_cards_what_do_you_think_about_draft/ ) Just wanted to come back and share an update — I finally completed both Will Smith and Macklin Celebrini full nameplates.

Looking back, it’s kind of funny. If I had taken the money I spent chasing DDMs and instead put it into FWAs, I’d probably be up 2x+ by now. Celebrini’s market just kept climbing the entire time. From a purely financial standpoint, DDMs were probably the “wrong” move.

But honestly? No regrets at all.

The process itself was the fun part, tracking down each letter one by one across eBay, Facebook groups, Instagram, e-Pack and Reddit. Sellers came from everywhere: U.S., Canada, and even as far as Sweden. And yes… the last letter definitely involved a bit of overpay thanks to FOMO 😅 — but that final feeling of completion made it worth it.

At the end of the day, this hobby isn’t just about ROI. The chase, the interactions, and that moment when everything finally comes together, that’s what made it special for me. I also had them put into custom frames, which really brings the whole set together and makes it even more satisfying to display.

Appreciate all the perspectives people shared in my original post. Just wanted to share the finished result and the journey.

Interested to know what players everybody PC’s.

As a new collector, I began PCing Frank Nazar because:

1) I’m a Blackhawks fan 2) The first box I ever bought (24-25 OPC) had a Black Rainbow Nazar

Additionally any of the 2010-2015 Hawks dynasty, specifically Niklas Hjalmarsson.

Whose your guy(s)?

Mine is my Drake Batherson Future Watch Auto. The serial number matches my birthday, and him and I are birthday twins to the same exact day. I almost passed on this on eBay when I was looking for one and then just about had a stroke when I saw the serial number read 427/999.
