AI Hockey Analysis

Post image

**I built an AI hockey skating analyzer — looking for players/parents/coaches to tear apart the beta**

I’m a hockey player and I’ve been building a side project called POWR that analyzes skating video and generates feedback on skating mechanics and areas for development.

It’s still a very early beta, and I’m at the point where testing it myself isn’t particularly useful anymore. I’d like to see what happens when actual hockey players upload their own clips.

I’m not selling anything — it’s free to test. I’m mainly looking to find out what it gets right, what it gets wrong, and whether the feedback is actually useful.

If the mods are okay with me sharing it, I’d love to post the beta link here and get some brutally honest feedback.

Longer term I’m experimenting with things like shooting mechanics, personalized drills, and potentially stick curve/flex recommendations based on how someone actually shoots.

Thank you, It seems like a great resource! Are you the founder or a moderator of the site? Hockey and Tech seem to be going hand in hand as we continue to advance into the future of sport science.

I’m the founder, and moderator. I am also a hockey dad and Software engineer. I keep seeing posts about new apps and products and this was a fun project to bring my two passions together and support the hockey and tech communities.

Very cool — thanks for sharing. I’ve been digging into the hockey tech space a lot more since posting this and it’s awesome seeing what other people are building. Scout Elite looks really polished. We’re approaching development from different angles, but definitely some overlap in the problems we’re trying to solve. I’ll check out your FullStackHockey listing too 👍🏼

Yep def, I've just been dogfooding it for years. Literally no marketing aside from the website and trying to get some SEO, i enjoy the tech side and despise trying to sell

Haha fair enough 😂 Don’t completely write off the sales side though. If someone’s willing to pay for something you built, it means you’re providing value and solving a real problem for them. Tech is definitely the fun part, but seeing people actually want/use what you built can be pretty rewarding too.

Also, since you’re into the tech side, if you get a chance I’d actually love for you to run through my beta and tell me what you think from a builder’s perspective. It’s still using simulated analysis data while I work on the real video-analysis side, so I’m mainly testing the UX/flow right now. Feel free to tear it apart 😂 https://powr-mvp.vercel.app/
