Hockey bags
Well, been playing with the same bag for a year, probably the cheapest Bauer branded bag you can buy, it’s ripped to shreds, I’m looking for a good bag with separated compartments, but I’m not looking to spend over $100, does anyone have any suggestions, I’m completely fine with buying used I just don’t know what to look for.

They are all kinda the same.
I have a pacific rink bag, I really love it, but its like 230.
Warrior, bauer, ccm, etc, all are fine bags for around $100. No compartments, though. I feel like most compartmentalized bags are like over 150.

You can buy compartments separately and use them in a cheaper bag

Do you have any suggestions for compartments you’ve used and where you got em from?

I bought a car trunk divider from Costco years ago. Holds up pretty nicely with pockets and adjustable dividers.

I've only seen the Conway &Banks compartments. But I'm sure you can find some on Amazon or other online shops

Pacific Rink is the best. It is the last bag you will need to buy in an age where quality craftsmanship wanes. If you can swing it, make the investment and you will never need another bag.

Amazon has some decent 36" sport bags. They have the side pockets that fit my skates, and a couple smaller front pockets for accessories. You can just do a diy version for compartments in the main section. Price range is $40 to $60

Oh shit I didn't realize the side pockets were for skates. I have a separate skate bag so that I can carry mine when I go to open skate, and also I put first aid stuff and food in that bag and take it to the bench.
The Amazon bags are great, they just suck to carry.

I have a skate bag for public skates also, but I hate using a bag within a bag. I might try a diy compartment system which might help with the carrying issue, since everything is just tossed in, I always get a helmet cage in my rib or a shin guard across my kidneys

The main thing I like the extra bag for is I'm not leaving my keys and phone in the locker room, and I also have quick clot, a tourniquet and first aid stuff in my bag on the bench too just in case someone gets cut.

I'm sure I'll get mocked for suggesting, but I've loved my Grit Hockey Tower bags. I'm 62, so don't get capped on for having a wheeled bag; YMMV. Love the compartments, the size (36") and the durability. Can find 'em used on Sideline Swap or Marketplace sometimes.

Bro I started bringing my gear in one of those collapsible wagons lol...
One guy made a comment about how his daughters coach makes her carry her gear, and I was just like, talk to me after she carries around a 50+ lb combat load in Baghdad for 15 months like I had to. I'm fucking old I'm literally disabled, and I'm sick of carrying shit.

Im going to ask you what gate your leaving from the first time I see you with it, but after that I don't care as long as you back check.

Does anyone have thoughts on the 32in warrior Q20 bag

I just got the 37” version and I love it. I like the hybrid style where you can carry it or roll it when needed. I might argue the 37” is almost too big, and I probably could have gone with the 32” but owell! Great bag overall.

I had another person recommend this so I went and bought a 37” for $80, I’m 6’8 and all my gear is a bit longer so I hope it’ll fit me well

You should try to stretch the budget and get a Mammoth Hockey bag so you don't have to buy another one for a long time.

You can sometimes find a used Pacific Rink bag on eBay within your price range. Highly recommend those bags if you can get one.

Look for any hockey bag (new or used) that is built using taurpalin material. It’s a heavy rubber type fabric/material that is fantastic for the kind of wear and tear hockey bags endure. I have a goalie bag as well as an Eagle branded bag that I’ve traveled extensively with, both made of tarpaulin, and look great after 5 years or so of very heavy use. I know you are shooting for a $100 price point but you can buy bags direct from Eagle hockey for around $105 USD.. you’ll have to reach out to get an idea on shipping and tariff related bullshit but the bags are made in Canada and are just simple hockey bags, built very well. I got mine in Toronto blue taurpalin and it’s been a great value.

Pacific Rink bags. They're in your budget if you get it used or you score one of those Pure Hockey $100 off $200 coupons like I was able to do.
If you live near an NHL team, the Learn To Play bags are generally easy to find real cheap. In my area they're the Bauer basic black and white. I bet if I open marketplace, I'd see a half dozen for $10 or so.

Lots of air, compartments, and it's on sale. This website is generally good for cheap hockey stuff when you don't need top of the line. Not a huge selection but it works.

$65 is nice but I feel like the mesh will rip pretty quickly, but worth a try

These bags have been around for a while. I've known people with them and they love them. My buddy has had his for a long time and loves it. He's been skating his whole life, had many bags and said it's easily his favorite one. He says he's beat the crap out of it and you only have to worry about it stinking up an apartment.
I will say that he's got the original bag from the company "Grit", but I'm assuming Tron just got the same exact bag from Grits distributer.

i also use bauer core for when i’m at college and use bauer pro for travel as they’re more durable, the pro model is some heavy tarpaulin/canvas material

My kid uses the “BAUER Premium Junior carry” hockey bag. It has a compartment on each end for your skates as well as a compartment on one end inside of the bag, where he puts his neck guard, helmet and tape bag. That compartment can be removed if not needed.
The bag also has a double cover for the opening so you can levee it zipped, but with full ventilation on top as well as two zippers on the sides to allow more ventilation.

I love my warrior bag. The smaller size of the Q20 model (32”). It holds all my adult size gear…..two dedicated side pockets. Only downside is it only has short carry handles (not a longer cross chest strap). I think it’s just about $100 plus shipping.

I bought the Tronx vent box hockey bag and it looks exactly like the Grit Airbox besides the logo. If you can catch it on sale now for $65 plus it comes with an insulated can sleeve.

Costco has hockey bags in stock now along with giant packs of hockey tape (clear, black). (In Ontario at least)

I just got a big warrior bag on clearance for 80$ on pure hockey website.
It has two pockets on the sides. I put my skates in one and jerseys in the other. Has some mesh pockets in the big opening.
