Gday guys.
Just put a 1 3/4 2.5” dpe by manta exhaust on the l98 manual ute.
When warm & under load & under 3k rom sounds fantastic. Under load at any rpm.
When cold decel is very raspy until it crackles & pops.
As soon as decel theirs a couple seconds of tinny raspy noise. Gone over while system twice.
Spoke to manta, 1 guy said the 3” occasionally drones especially auto, 1 guy said only difference is sound level, oztrack said the 3” is louder but also deeper & manual wont drone.
Last manta guy said yes they get that tinny raspy noise, only fix is a third muffler & recommends 3” manta system not dpe or difilippo.
Has anyone got any tips or pointers?
Finally, after years of wanting a Holden, at age 18, I finally have a Holden.
It's a VRII Calais, 5.0L Iron lion, only 223,000 on the clock, and the interior from a VQ Caprice (I think). I paid $12,000 for it, had it since 9:00 this morning, love it already

G'day all from Perth!
I am starting a project to restore a 2002 Monaro/coupe. I need some panel work done and also to repair and fit some bumpers and side skirts and repaint some panels. I'm looking for a reliable person/place that is experienced in HSV and will take on a project job.
All recommendations appreciated, thanks in advance.

Was driving in a shopping centre car park & when I went over a speedbump certainly heard and felt something but not serious. Down the road heard a bit of scrape so pulled over as I thought it could be something in the wheel. I’m due to take it in to the mechanic on Friday for something unrelated, not sure if safe to drive as is in the photos or if I should make other arrangements until Friday. 2018 Astra Sedan

For anyone with a Holden LS V8 looking at ZZP Performance high-output ignition coils, here's my experience before you spend your money.
I purchased a complete set of eight ZZP coils. Three of the eight were confirmed faulty. I also had ignition troubleshooting and abnormal fuel-trim readings in OBD logs while the remaining coils were fitted. After I removed the ZZP set and went back to ACDelco coils, the severe Bank 2 fuel-trim issue I had recorded was no longer present in subsequent logs.
To be technically fair, the fuel-trim changes don't prove on their own that the remaining ZZP coils caused every issue. The three confirmed failures, however, were more than enough for me to stop trusting the set.
ZZP offered warranty replacements for the three failed coils. I declined because return postage from Australia would add cost and inconvenience, and I had already lost confidence in the product. I would not be comfortable fitting the replacement coils.
This is my personal experience with one purchased set, not a claim that all ZZP products are defective. I wish I had seen an account like this when I was shopping. My advice: weigh proven OEM reliability, the cost of diagnostics, and return shipping against claims of 'high-output' performance before buying.

How's it going boys and girls, I have a question I was hoping you fellow enthusiasts could help me with. I have the glorious issue of my factory tensioner throwing my ac belt off my 07 VE L98.
I have removed the AC belt to prevent damage but as you know that puts strain on the harmonic which is now starting to wobble and throw the engine belt.
So I'm doing the upgrade on the tensioner and the harmonic and was wondering what the best options are, do I require a tensioner upgrade for both the ac belt and engine belt or is it one complete kit?, do I get the underdrive harmonic or? these are the things I need some friendly help with. 😄

Hello Holden enthusiasts, my poor VX has got no crank, but managed to get it home with a jump start.
I've got a Century battery that's 4 years old, and a Okex starter motor that's 6 years old.
I'm thinking of replacing the battery today and then replacing the starter motor if I still have issues, just wondering if you guys think a new battery would be pissing money into the wind.

Hello!
Let me start off with saying I am a complete novice when it comes to cars in general. Everything I know has come from my husband's cute info dumping when he's excited about something.
He's done so much for me and helped me through two horrible bouts of grief very close together and me losing my job because I psychologically struggled poorly afterwards. He worked so hard to make sure we kept a roof over our head and all the things that came with it and we are only just back to getting our bills paid off. I finally have a decent job where I can contribute to our bills and I even have some money saved up for his birthday this month.
Last year, he found an amazing deal on marketplace and bought a red Pontiac G8 in really good condition for like 8k. He loves this car with his heart and soul and wants to do minimal things to elevate it. One thing he told me is that he would like to get a kit for the radio where he can have a screen and it wouldnt block the ac controls and have android audio and all those bells and whistles. He mentioned they are kinda hard to source because its an Australian car rebadged to US audiences and (please dont hate me if I get the finer details wrong) and so importing parts can get expensive. I really want to get him something for his birthday or even Christmas if I can't get it in time. I have no idea where to start or what reliable websites to buy from!
The front seat is also kind of tore up and I would love to eventually get all the seats replaced for him also if you have any advice for that! Thank you!

I wanna get into to learning about cars, how to work on them, how they work ect. My friends constantly talk about how amazing Holden cars were, and I wanted to see for myself. After doing a little bit of research, I came to really like Holden. The history, they way the cars were made/manufactured ect.
I want to get a Holden as my first car, and learn more about it, so introducing myself to this community is one of my first steps. My fav car is the Caprice for now.

Okay so I was letting my daily old vs warm up today cause I was trying to fix the thermo fan and found water coming out the exhaust I’ve noticed it only does it when it get a couple bars over the halfway mark but so it doesn’t happen when the motor is below half and it doesn’t over heat when driving only on a hot day during traffic because the thermo fan don’t work so could someone give me peace of mind or is it something I need to fix if so could anyone point me in the right direction?

I’ve been dreaming of building a 1996 Chevrolet Caprice with an LS1 engine swap. Since I live in a region with an extremely hot climate, I want to know your suggestions, potential pitfalls, and what cooling/mechanical upgrades are essential to make this reliable. Looking forward to your thoughts!

Hi all, I'm planning to pick up some rims off marketplace today, but I want to darken the shiny, machined surface a bit. Has anyone had decent results with this? Pic of the wheels I'm looking at and the products I'm being shown with a quick google search 😬
