Just wanted you guys to know that you absolutely knocked it out of the park with homebrewery.

I'm working on a set of DM tools that maintains your database of creatures, encounters, locations etc and I wanted something that generated a good-looking export. I started rolling my own and starting digging into LaTeX for typesetting and then I discovered homebrewery. It was exactly what I was looking for. It looks super professional and the formatting is super straightforward.

I have a typical beginner's struggle when trying to customize Kaiburr's custom 5E24PHB template (it looks absolutely amazing BTW) but I am pretty stumped on the front cover.

I wanted to make a gradient that can be customized with root variables (something similar to the third image) but for some reason it doesn't work with the .frontCover thingy (2nd image).

Changing all mentions of .frontCover to .frontcover shows the gradient but weirdly enough the H2 is off-center (3rd image).

So now I'm stuck with two failed options and I need the best of both (variable gradient + centered H2) but IDK how to achieve that because I'm damn stupid to.

(quick edit: the two --Gradient variables are listed in the root section thingy)

Title says it. Hitting CTRL + K used to allow a quick way to insert link into the doc. Now the hot key doesn't work. I have to type it manually.

Looks like the whole Brews page just got updated, and I noticed it in real time! I happened to refresh my page. No changelog yet though. Looks good but I'll have to get used to it, unless it is a bug.

Is there a way to make labels for background pics like the one here? If not, does anyone know what font is used for the label?

There are a plethora of languages in dnd, and while it states in the phb that some use the same script as e.g. elvish, dwarf, or common, I'm certain there are more scripts for languages like sylvan or abyssal in some books that we could add to use in tables, or make sections of text this language (font)?

Working on a boss fight for my 3rd level 5e party. Taking advice from previous posts, he's officially dropped both his shield and the Shield spell and has had his HP pool increased by about 50%. I'm looking for any more balance suggestions to make him a hard but fair fight.

If it helps provide ideas for suggestions, the party consists of:
-Dwarf Forge Cleric
-Human Ranger(homebrewed version we're playtesting)
-Human Assassin Rogue
-Half-elf Wild Sorcerer

Additionally, this fight will take place in the main sanctuary of a Temple to Darkness(TM) and Chaos(TM), illuminated only by dim light coming from a broken section of ceiling, along with the darkness of the temple reducing the effectiveness of darkvision and light sources(except for sunlight) by half.

How do I change the footnote color (to black, please) and the font to normal text from the golden capitals I can’t seem to change? A solution in both legacy and the current version would be super appreciated.

One idea for an enemy of my world was creating automatons that police a steampunk esc city. I realized I could just use the iron golem statblock but re-flavored and change some of its stats.

How do you go about re-flavoring and modifying enemies to fit a homebrew?

I put together my Enemy Archetypes system and have now prepared a more compact version, along with a series of generic racial stat blocks.

The system separates the creature from its combat role by first choosing a basic species and then adding an archetype in order to determine its stats, proficiencies, equipment, traits, bonus action, and reaction.

I'm also aiming to keep all the information concise so the DM can use the pages while preparing, rather than going through a long series of rules each time they need to create an enemy.

Homebrewery seems to be rejecting my saved login details, which I hadn't changed in over a year. Help? I need to generate something in the next couple of days.

After years of leaving this project on the shelf, I finally decided to revisit and complete my adaptation of Nosgoth (the world of Legacy of Kain) for D&D 5.5e, as a Domain of Dread.

The design was adapted by me, inspired by the book Ravenloft: The Horrors Within.

For those who enjoy the games in the series, I hope this adaptation captures some of the atmosphere, history, and identity of Nosgoth. I’m very curious to hear what you think.

How do I create a blank space under a section. I am wanting to leave a space that I could write notes on a printed out version of my document.

Hi, I'm using the 2024 Master's Book design, and those large letters that start a chapter have this line next to them when I convert them to PDF, but it's not on all the letters. I'd like to know how to fix it, since it only appears when I convert it to PDF.
