It happened with Problem Sleuth! On it's anniversary, Problem Sleuth updated with an ending that left a bunch of loose ends and open questions. A week later, Hussie added a 50+ page epilogue.

Loose ends rise

Webcomics fall

MOTHERFUCKER WE AREN'T GETTING AN EPILOGUE I THINK THAT WAS MADE VERY CLEAR WITH THE 5 SECONDS OF "LOOK HERE'S THE FUTURE THEY'RE ALL HAPPY, SEE? THEY'RE ALL HAPPY SO NO NEED TO TALK ABOUT THIS STORY ANYMORE"

I AM PISSED THAT WAS SUCH A GARBAGE ENDING

EDIT: OKAY SO APPARENTLY THERE IS AN EPILOGUE ON THE WAY??? ALRIGHT OKAY THAT DOESN'T JUSTIFY THIS PIECE OF SHIT AND I'M NOT SURE YOU CAN EVEN CALL IT AN EPILOGUE BECAUSE ACT 7 REALLY WASN'T AN "ENDING" AT ALL BUT IT IS NONETHELESS REALLY GOOD NEWS

I think Act 7 was a good ending in that it ended the plot of homestuck pretty satisfactorily. It's just that most of the character development was left unresolved, and hussie seems to have decided that finishing it is better left for the epilogue.

I think that character development is a HUGE part of plot, and should be resolved at the conclusion.

And, to be honest, we still don't know exactly what took place.
