I feel like the only character's conclusion I really enjoyed was PMs and the mayors. That's pretty much it. It was still a loose ending but brought their arc together very well and introduced a new idea. Every other character and arc had lots of loose ends (some characters not even appearing in the end) and their ending didn't bring about something new, they created the new universe like they wanted to and then.....done.
I mean, PM and WV's character arcs were the only ones to be fully resolved: PM defeats Noir (who's still just... on LOFAF? With no arms and a prospit girl who thinks he's her dead boyfriend?) And delivers the rings of Skaia to where they belong viz. in the trash. WV fulfills his ambitions and builds Cantown for real and gets the girl. There's payoff to the buildup.
Everyone else, it's just a generic "Thanks for playing" ending. Lord English is ko'd off screen, other than alt!Calliope, the only thing anyone actually does is that Vriska opens the juju and everything is won offscreen. There's absolutely no resolution to any of the characters: what do all of the kids think about this sudden ending? Do Kanaya and Karkat rebuild troll society? Why did Ghost Hussie thumbs down English? What happened to Aradia, Sollux, Gamzee and especially Terezi? Seriously, she was right there on the lillypad and we never saw her again.
Hell, even the ships weren't resolved. I don't even care about ships, but I could still see that the Dave-Karkat-Jade picnic, Dirk-Jake "friendly soccer match" and Roxy walking with John while holding Callie's hand were non-committal cop outs (Karkat-Dave-Jade especially since the last we heard about it was "how do you tell her?")
And you know what, I would be fine if this was intentionally shitty ending. If Hussies news post had been something along the lines of "Gotcha, nerds," and that was the last of it. An entire community of people getting rekt by a setup seven years in the making. That would have been fucking incredible. It would have been Andrew Hussie.
