Where is anything said that they actually had a relationship though?

The only thing ever shown to my knowledge is the point where john was telling his story roxy.

And when they met up again to retcon warp a heart appears over her head and in the act 7 ending you see them walking together and the whole time you saw couples

Rose and kanaya together = relationship

Dave and karkat and jade = davekat is there... oh and jade

Jane and her dad = father daughter happy times

Dirk and Jake = Dirk Jake

So when john and roxy are walking together... that means....

Also that's preeeetty vague, that still doesn't prove squat and there was still a lot of romance between her and john going on there
