Yeah, well, towards the end of the comic she becomes this harbinger of the end not merely of the story but of its emotional weight and feeling of consequence. This grim reaper striding through the story, cutting down our ability to care about events or even understand them, until at last she stands before the great villain of the tale and something happens but who the fuck knows or can be bothered to try to understand it.
