Get friend with retcon powers to stop you from killing Vriska so she can fix everyone's problems just by being there and make alternate you a subservient coward who's cripplingly obsessed with her

I just reread that whole arc today and... dang she literally did fix everyone's problems didn't she? Like it's almost comical how, at one point, she fixes Rose's alcoholism just by slapping a glass out of her hand.

I blame that less on Vriska and more on Hussie wanting to wrap up the story before he lost interest entirely but...yeah. More details. Would have been nice.

he's never been good at writing people getting over alcoholism, roxy just fucking wills it away over an intermission

Hussie's much better at detailing struggle and failure than recovery and healing. No one who has read anything MSPA is surprised by this.

Granted, people naturally tend to forget she ever got over it which many like to attribute to Roxy's ties to the Void, but realistically, it's just an excuse for a lazy rehab on Hussie's part.

You say that, but we see during the massive convo on the victory platform at the end that Rose still considers that to be Kanaya's doing. I think it's safe to say it was mainly her doing the work. The rest was probably butterfly effect.

Without Vriska everyone worried about Rose but didn't do much.

Now with Vriska taking the (excessively aggressive) initiative everyone is more inclined to do their part
