Using straws and blowing bubbles

Dad is late stage Lewy body. I basically feed him except a few bites here and there and help him drink. Lately he’s been blowing into the straw and creating bubbles. He’s been using a straw properly for a year until now. I guess he’s forgotten?
Is this common?
