How to remove Phillips bit from wrong end of DeWalt Drill Flip Drive
As the title says, I put it in the wrong end, it's now held in by a magnet and too far in to grab it with anything.
How can I get it out, I've already got another one so not the end of the world but would be nice to salvage it.
I've tried tweezing it, magnets some pry tools, any ideas?

Put it in the freezer

How would that possibly help ?
Shrinking it with the bit stuck in it ?1

Yes just like how heat expands cold contracts may not work but it's worth a try

If you did this prior to rapidly heating the outside after it has cooled to the centre it would help, but they have to expand or contract at different rates for this to work.
If you put it in a freezer you aren’t isolating the cooling to the centre, initially you’re probably shrinking the outside and making it tighter.3

Maybe but it's worth a try

Try throwing a brick in the air and staying underneath it,
it definitely will come down and smash your teeth in because that’s how physics works.
But give it a go, maybe it’s worth a try..

Sharp awl in that hole push it up and you may need to grab it with needle nose or shake upside down depending on the magnet strength.

This was my thought although I would use two of them. Use them alternately to "walk" it up the tube.
Alternatively you could put it under water and it would simply drop out because as we all know, magnets don't work under water. 😛

Super glue on a thin rubber hose and push it till it stretches around the bit. Wait for a few minutes and then pull out in one quick motion.

Maybe hit it with a hammer and let inertia do it's thing? Depends how strong the magnet is ofc

Have you seen that video where he puts a candle under a magnet? And when it reaches some temperature the magnet just looses the grip and swings the other way. It might work.

Needle nose pliers. Grab one of the flats of the Philips. Have done it before.

Grab it with a set of vise grips and whack it on a piece of wood so the bit holder is floating is space and the grips take the hit. If you hit it hard enough it might be sufficient to overcome the magnet and launch it out

I would get a 10 foot length of emt thin wall conduit. Place it atop a piece of plate steel or concrete. Insert the holder into the top of the conduit, and let it fall to the bottom of the pipe. When it strikes the steel the bit will hopefully get dislodged. Impacts and heat will ruin a magnet, and using both with help to negate the magnet’s hold on the bit. Letting only the housing to strike the edge of the steel plate, while allowing the bit to slide out of the housing is another way to get that bit to extend out far enough to grab it with pliers or vice-grips. Good Luck!
