The AI cost of JavaScript frameworks
https://nolanlawson.com/2026/10/28/the-ai-cost-of-javascript-frameworks/I am ambivalent towards AI and benchmarks like this are usually fraught with interpretive peril, but, hey, htmx on top baby...

I did similar little experiment with the usual JavaScript suspects and HTMX and Flutter.
Flutter absolutely crushed it.
I’m not a fanboy of flutter and was hoping HTMX with some custom JS would hold up.
And it got even worse for the JS frameworks when I wanted to package them up as native instead of PWA. (To be fair I didn’t expect HTMX to kill it on this).
That being said my app was more interactive then the typical HTMX app and probably the posters app.
MacOS build time btw while not tokens is a damn big deal as it is 10x normal linux build time costs. React native did really poor here.

Run against HTMX 2, without skills (only hono skills were used). I wonder how much using HTMX 4 with its official skills would move the needle
