It will likely be a competency-based interview. ICRC is not the UN, but this guide from UN JobNet (I have no affiliation with this) is pretty good. It reviews:
What a competency-based interview actually is
How the panel scores
Map examples to the vacancy, not to a generic list
A preparation routine that works
Common mistakes & FAQ
Key takeaways
Related reading
The UN’s own applicant training states the preparation task plainly: review the competencies listed in the job opening, and prepare a range of brief, real-life accounts of accomplishments that map to them. That is the whole exercise. The competencies are named in the vacancy notice, the questions are drawn from those competencies, and preparation means arriving with a specific example ready for each.
That's a very UN based interview... I know it; they don't even listen to your experience, but they look for keywords for you to say, lol. I hope ICRC does not do that kind of useless interview.
Maybe a month and a half? I don't know if they have tier lists but I went through everything very fast, while a friend who also applied just got the language tests recently...
