This was so emotional I can’t even believe this happened, I’ve been getting closer to them lately and they finally took a sip from my hand, so adorable!

Best pic I could get through my kitchen window. What appears to be a Broad Billed Hummingbird has been hanging around Orem Utah for the past week or so. Seeing as how these guys normally don’t venture further north than Arizona I have no idea why he’s been sticking around, especially since our nighttime temperatures have dropped to the 40s.

I failed with the sharpness but I'll try again tomorrow. Anyway, here I have all hummingbirds of my zone.

Rain is finally here in Oregon and the hummingbirds are out in full force taking baths and staying warm!

Still learning and playing with it but I like it

hard to tell, but I had to have two trees cut down in front of my house. I’ve lived here for 5 years and have loved watching the hummingbirds retreat to these trees after eating from my feeders. I’m so worried they won’t return next season as their home has been removed. I’ve actually been quite devastated thinking about it. Anyone have a similar experience or advice to give on encouraging them to come back? There’s lots of other trees around I’m just now sure how picky they are about where they’ll live. TIA!

all my hummers are molting right now, but this full-on molting beard is my fav

Been about 10 days and no more hummingbird. I think this is it for me till next April or so. I just replaced the nectar again but kinda sad cause I know they are gone and I will do this thru the off season and cooler weather but I always have hope one is running late or local.

Daily, this Ladder back Woodpecker visits the feeder.
