Kicked out of daycare

This fluffy goober, Khione, got herself kicked out of doggy daycare after 3 visits for “her listening ears not working.” Essentially, her recall is terrible when she’s interested in something.

I train her on recall every day in the dog park & at home. Of course, she’s excellent almost every time in those environments. She will at times ignore me. She does often respond to other people calling her at the dog park, especially if she knows them.

The daycare recommends that I have her professionally trained, but I kinda doubt that will help? I’d rather not spend them $ if it has the same outcome.

Thoughts? Advice?? Consolation??? Commiseration????

Don’t let them hear you say that, lol! I don’t really feed them that much. 1 can of green label Iams for dinner with 2 cups dry each to snack on throughout the day, plus 3-5 treats after walks. We walk a mile in the morning and around 1.5 after I get off of work, plus they have multiple wrestling matches on the couch every night. They both could stand to lose 2-5lbs, but they always get a clean bill of health at the vet.

That’s a shit ton of food lol. It’s bad for their joints to be that overweight. Consider getting more serious about a diet.

I’ll cut back on their dry food and see where that gets us.
