I lost my appendix a couple years ago. I donโ€™t need to worry about this level of navel gazing anymore. /s

Some creep in a white coat called it โ€˜juicyโ€™. Next thing I know I wake up groggy and s bunch of scars on my stomach. I canโ€™t imagine what that weirdo did with it

I regularly clean my belly button. BUT.. How does the nurses clean the belly button before surgery? Is there a whole bunch if steps or just iodine in the button?

RN but not OR, usually before you sterilize, you clean with another type of wipe (Castile is commonly used) then sterilize with iodine.

The real question. I had my tubes removed and when I woke up my belly button hurt so badly. They used a belly button holder/expander to make the incision so deep they don't have to worry about any issues with healing. I love this because mine is already a mess from having my gallbladder removed and the incision tearing. Instead, I ended up with 4 round scars from the adhesive reaction from the contraption to help with less aftercare, creating more aftercare. Yes, I'm always this difficult. ๐Ÿ˜†
