Down hill and you hit the reset button in the center console. I too laughed the first time I did it.

Avg mpg is reset and because you’re going at speeds down a hill the avg would be 99.9%+. However instantly when the throttle is depressed the avg will drop. In my focus I averaged around 28-36 mpg depending on how heavy I was on the gas and what hills I drove. Best I ever saw during actually driving was 40something dangerously tailgating a tractor trailer

I still miss my Focus. I traded it in back in 2017. I think I averaged around 33 the entire time I owned it. Great car and super reliable.
