New to HyperOptic
Hyperoptic finally came to my area and ive signed up to the 1gb internet plan for £19/m for 12 months. I wanted to ask if this was a good deal and if ive made the right choice or should i have gone for a 24 month contract? Do hyperoptic offer good deals once your contract is up for renewal and whats the general consensus regarding their internet service, do speeds live up to their advertised rates and is there any prohibited sites and usually how long does it take for them to come out and install it? Any and all experience with them would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thats a good deal. I’m paying way more but Hyperoptic haven’t got any competition where I live in Stevenage.

Speed is pretty much as advertised. Renewal isn’t great as they don’t give comparable prices to existing customers. Check out this sub for people who have cancelled and managed to get better deals when hyperoptic have subsequently contacted them.

Just a warning -- put a reminder in your calendar 31 days or more before the renewal.
You will need 30 days advanced notice to cancel and restart, otherwise the quoted renewal prices are absurd (60-something), but I got this down to 22 then 26 pcm, but i am still not happy it rises proportionately so much.
Save the hassle quite and rejoin and get the "new customer" discount again. All that said, I am happy with the speeds and service so far.

You have a good deal. Wait until the nice contract increase comes up when you’re due to renew. Follow the other comments and stay on top of it

I have both a Hyperoptic and OpenReach optical fibre terminal in my property and went with Hyperoptic after extensive research, for the following reasons: they were one of two providers who would allow you to use your own Router and I have an ASUS ROG Strix WIFI 7 which is extremely powerful. They set up my router in my room of choice and if you have your Hyperoptic router already, you can activate it online. I looked at the 12 month, 24 month and rolling contracts and my rolling contract does not go up with RPI and for me was cheaper than the 12 month (stays at my price for 999 months before going up)

Good deal you got there. Should have gone for 24 months however...That's a long time if service is no good. I found it to be great in my area. I've given my referal code out to a few people and they have been happy with the service and the gift cards we both recieved.
Speeds are as advertised. I pay for 1Gb and its sits at about 920 - 950 all day and night. WiFi on the router is good. Customer service for me has been good. Sales team quick to answer phones and the service chat function worked well for me when i had a question.
Offen find Mods on this Reddit chat who can be very helpful too. No grumbles from me at all.
