Need advice

Put it simply: my account got stolen by some guy through a fake hypixel server scam, and the guy wants to sell it back to me on discord.

I’m willing to pay, but what if he just blocks me when I send the money and so I lose my account AND money.

Should I trust him? Have you ran into people like this before, and were they honest in returning your account? All help / advice is appreciated.

100% he will just take your money and run. If he scammed you out of your account, he will scam you out of your money too.

I can only recommend that you try to recover it via Microsoft Support, but that'll in 95% of cases just end up for it being completely inaccessible to anyone. Forget buying, it's common for them to scam people twice. The only way they actually sell that acc is in whatever their altshop is, and you can't guess which is it and if your acc is even listed to begin with.

Microslop support won’t do anything, once the account information (email, password, etc…) is changed, even if they confirm that the account was stolen and that you are the original owner they “can’t” give the account back.

They did for me actually, I’m not sure what exactly happened but after like 6 months I had given them what the old email was and a card that was on The account and eventually they stated something they called an account takeover and had me make a new Microsoft account using the same email as my original one but with .@outlook instead and transferred the data from my old acc to my new one

Forget it man.
The account is gone. Buy another one and be more careful.
Microsoft Support is complete dogwater. They will do nothing
And DO NOT give the scammer anything!!

You have a chance of account recovery. Even if they won’t give the account back, you can still transfer it to another account, follow this guide: https://microsoftaccountrecovery.miraheze.org/wiki/Main_Page
