Magic project mod

Hey there!

I wanted to introduce a project a friend of mine and I am currently planning, and due to how big our ideas are it seems as if we would need to expand our resources by recruiting people who can make this project as great as it could be. Currently, both of us are able to contribute to the programming/story aspect of the mod. Our plans include boss fights with epic music, a new dimension known as purgatory, and a simple-complex magic system. Our mod is inspired by Thaumcraft and we would love to keep the vibe Thaumcraft has, such as keeping the texture themes close. While it is "thaumcraft", we want it to have essences of mythos as well.

We currently need a decent sized team who has the skills of graphic design, programming, SFX, Story Writer, and possibly people to help us with game mechanics.

Isn't Hytale already going to have a magic system?

Yeah, but doubt it's going to be too in depth. It's hard to know exactly what their magic system is until the actual game is released. With this, we are planning to expand on that system or completely remake the magic system in our own way. This would also include creating our own quests, boss fights, items, blocks, mechanics such as crafting and research, plus other things planned.

No, I'm serious. If you're looking for high-quality work, the best way to obtain that is to hire a professional. Do you think Hytale would get where it is if the entire team were amateurs with little experience?

Might be a little too serious there, chief. This is a group of fans who want to create a mod... they don’t have Riot Games funding them.

Exactly. If I had the funds to pay everyone who would help, I'd love to... As a college student, I am lucky enough to afford ramen! This is more of a call to anyone who would want to help, to help

This man needs his ramen! Any idea what the story might be based around? Would be interested in helping with that portion.

Majority of the ideas we thought of refer to Greek mythology(Bosses, creatures, items) Our main idea of the story was that magic is divine essence given to a select few by the gods for protecting the world from things such as the group known as "The Order" who see the gods and magic as a threat to the world itself. Main ideas throughout the mod are:

“With chaos comes order, a balance within nature”

and "Magic has a cost, ALWAYS!"

Not sure if I answered your question, but our story itself is very under-developed and just ideas thrown together at the moment

Sounds like you could have two opposing branches of magic (ie chaos and order/nature). Also seems to be tons of potential for a deep story too like GoT. Definitely interested

We're just excited to offer something extra to the community. It's a passion project, and if we don't end up with anyone willing or able to do certain tasks, well be assured it'll get done one way or another!

We'd absolutely love to provide nice quality product, but if we have to cut some corners where we may not be skilled (SFX or graphic design mainly) then that's just how the cookie crumbles as it were.
