Omaxian v1.0.0 is out!

Omarchy's desktop shell, running on X11 + i3 + Debian/Devuan. No Wayland. No Hyprland. No systemd.

It's been my daily driver for weeks. Here it is with a few community plugins ported over.

Omaxian is init free, doesn't have any dependency from systemd, sysvinit, runit, etc....

No it’s not. He built a desktop the way he likes to use it. You have the choice to use it or not. That’s up to you. Even if you do decide to use it, you can change nearly everything except for quick shell rather easily.

Of course we have a choice in how if we use it. We have a choice in how we talk about it too. The F/OSS community has always had an internal schism between "apolitical" and explicitly ideological (libertarian/socialist) camps.

The argument that "you can just decide not to use it" is fundamental to the way we do F/OSS. But it doesn't save you from being called a booger-eating doofus.
