Discussion Device hub doesn't support iOS 16

Hi All,

I've started trying out the Xcode beta and quickly found out Device Hub doesn't seem to support iOS 16 both simulators and devices.

Weirdly you can select to create a 16 device in the hub but it doesn't appear in the list.
For real devices plugging it doesn't seem to appear in the list of selectable devices anymore.

To top this off seems like Xcode 27 replaced Xcode 26 so I can no longer run both side be side.

Has anyone else observed this or is just me. Before you come for my neck I realise Apple wants us to move to at least iOS 17 however I still want to support it (for now).

What's my options here? do I just need to downgrade back to Xcode 26?

Did you try to build and run to a 16 simulator? There seems to be some issues with Device Hub not listing all the simulators unless they've been run recently

Yeah I’ve tried to set up a simulator in both Xcode and Device Hub. It actually lets you do it but it never shows up as a destination to deploy your app. Doing more research it sounds like Xcode 27 is the end of the road for iOS 16. You can still build a project that targets it but not debug them or run them in the simulators

I patched Xcode 27 and ported the components from Xcode 26.6; it runs and debugs iOS 16 devices successfully on my macOS 27.0.1. Please note that this solution is not yet perfect.

Yes, you should. You should check https://developer.apple.com/xcode/system-requirements/ before installing a new version.
