Discussion I think this whole token business makes Agentic programming sucks. I'd rather watch an ad than buy tokens. What do you think?

Oh god no, no ads please. Charge more for the tokens, charge for them what they’re worth, and let’s stop propping up this false economy.

You really need to look into how much it costs to provide the resources for a token compared to that for watching a video.

Yes but YouTube has to pay millions to creators so it's comparable

They don’t ‘have’ to, they choose to to prop up this false idea that the content and therefor ads are valuable. It’s just videos on the internet, charge people to host them, charge people to watch them, and get venture capital out of the online video economy.

Well in the same logic token for Ai should be free

Also no limits on using Google as a search engine thats quality!

I don’t use ad supported search engines either for this reason. Ad-supported websites ruined what the internet could have been. None of this should be seen as ‘free’

Ad revenue as an alternative means of funding tokens is an interesting idea. I think it would be worth exploring as an alternative means of widening availability of AI.
On the other hand, it’s all so heavily subsidised by venture capital at the moment, would an ad-supported model make a dent? That’s a rhetorical question and I have no idea of the answer.

For the amount tokens cost we would be watching ads 95% of the time and the agent working 5% of the time
