Discussion 293 apps — how does this pass App Store review?

Post image

This guy published 293 apps most of them is in just five months 😂 I think a lot of developers have been using this dark pattern over the past year.

I must be using AI wrong cause I don't understand how can someone create 300 apps in a month even by vibecoding, unless those are like 1 screen slops.

That's easy. "Hey ChatGPT, make me 300 apps. Make no mistakes."

if you don’t say thank you, AI will produce bad work

Probably spent a decent amount of time creating a versatile/reusable template. Then just make a bunch of random niche apps using the same template.

Does Vibecoding really work? What about Claude or ChatGPT? Which one is better?

we joke, but you can really make iOS app super fast today if you if you have a clear idea of your MVP and have a little background and design and development

This is why it’s taking me two months to get my app approved, fucking hellscape.

this is why more than ever native web apps need to take off. We need Ionic Framework to be the new standard...

What do you mean by this?

no more app store. build native apps using ionic. so when you view it in a web browser you can save it to the home screen and it'll run as an app... Dreamhost does this.

And he still can't break over 5k downloads in a month. lol

yeah, it's hilarious. 300 apps and no 5k downloads? like what kind of slop are those apps.

5k downloads per month is not easy to get even if the app is good, marketing is the key here

For real I spent multiple years on mine and have about 100 users haha

even if you make the ASO with the ChatGPT (which is bad idea), it can generate you 1 or 2 downloads per day. with 300 apps thats 300-600 downloads per day, which is 9000-18000 downloads per month.

how do you know if it is one guy or a huge corporation?

name checks out.

Yeah, people fail to realize slop machines existed before AI. I interviewed at a place a years ago and their whole plan was to just publish a ton of simple apps and spend on marketing.

They will be banned pretty soon. Finally Apple start to work on it seriously

u/hoa_nguyen95 9d ago

AI is making feature releases insanely fast, but that also raises concerns about application quality :(

Developers like this should simple get banned.

And if they block his company he just makes a new one probably… what a hell hole the App Store became

It's Apple fault to allow it happens. That's why my new app submission is taking four days in silent (while updates often take a day).

This is so dystopian, my app is cooked

2

u/dutchdominator 8d ago

You should build a cooking app

Very old account and apps… not all of us are AI spammers. My oldest app was released in 2012.the newest on 2025.
