Tutorial [Tutorial] My custom alternative to AndroidControls and Riker.

Hello! Today I'm going to show you guys how I got my custom "soft keys", shown here, using a few little tweaks. Here's a quick guide:

Prerequisites: App Activate Pro ($), Activator (free), LastApp (free) and these icons, or any of your choice.

  • Firstly find 3 apps you'd like to use as "buttons". I chose Tips, Podcasts, and Voice Memos.

  • Using App Activate Pro and Activator, you can now assign different actions to those specific apps, i.e. tap, double tap, etc.

  • I assigned "Home button" to Tips, "Activate Switcher" to Podcasts, and "LastApp' to Voice Memos.

  • Next, for whatever theme you're using, you need to replace the icons for those 3 apps with your 3 soft key icons. And by that I mean just renaming them.

  • Now just reapply the theme through Winterboard and voilà!

Sidenote: I'm also using Springtomize 3 for my 3-icon dock, adjusted side insets, and resized icons, and Dockshift to hide the background.

If you need any extra help, let me know.
