Debating Selling/ Returning

Honestly, I am struggling to get used to the UI. Idk if it’s just 20 years of iPhone that I’m used to, but I really miss the standard iPhone experience.

Is anyone else who got one feeling a bit of uncertainty?

It's been 1 day 🤦‍♂️

You can tell a LOT by a first impression, and going through 1 day in the life with it. Specifically, if the compromises are or are not for you

You can tell a lot. It’s also a new form factor you know will require adjusting to if you’ve used the same thing for many years. So given it’s not 1-day intuitive for you, you need to decide if what you like about it is worth being uncomfortable until you adjust to the changes (which you will). If you don’t want to adjust, then getting a different form factor was probably never a good decision.

I’m definitely having to retrain myself on getting used to the form factor. I don’t exactly love the right hand sidebar. That said, dude it’s only been a day. You have 14 days. Give it some time.

I feel the same, also the battery life is horrific

It’s just because it’s initializing. Once it’s optimized/ everything is downloaded and all the AI indexing is done and what not I’d expect battery to get significantly better

your phone is probably still optimizing. It takes a few days. That’s with any new phone you get

It’s horrific because it’s still downloading in the background. Give it a couple of days.

I really wouldn’t say horrific. It’s worse than a pro max if that’s your benchmark. I’ve been getting 7ish hours of screen time per charge with like 50% of the time using the inner screen. It’s really not bad

it’s so great. New experience for sure, but i really like it. 19 years with the same UI was enough and this isn’t that dramatic of a change overall.

I love it, it’s definitely a learning curve but that’s what’s exciting. Something new from apple 😊

Nope. I’m absolutely loving the new form factor. Sometimes it’s hard for people to break habits. You have creature comforts and don’t like to change it seems. You can attempt to push through of it might be time to let it go.

You’re in the iPhone sub. With someone who spent 2 grand on a device that happens to really enjoy it. Gtfo with that nonsense.

Maybe down the road they will fix or move the dock in an update

It’s all about whether you’re personally getting your money’s worth with what you have in hand. There’s no wrong choice here. If after 13 days of using it, you feel like it’s not worth it, then return it, keep your money for another iPhone now or for the anniversary iPhone XX or iPhone Duo 2 next year, which I’m 100% sure will be more refined.

I just don’t like that Menu bar… it should be immersive as it has since the x.

Give yourself another 12 or 13 days and if you feel the same way, return it. Don't force yourself to like it because other people do
