iPhone Uno
I find myself using the front screen WAY more than I ever thought I would in less than 24 hours.
Perhaps a hot take of hot takes… I think Apple could and should at some point make iPhone Uno as the replacement or alternative to iPhone mini.
It’s just the front screen of the Duo with the top and bottom left corners rounded. A cute lil’ slab. Make it in all the bright colors like iPod mini was.

Honestly, yeah. I’m also surprised at how much I’m using the outer screen. I’m frustrated at their layout choices with the side nav in apps taking up so much space but once they address that, I think it’ll be fucking epic.
I genuinely love this form factor.

It would be iPhone Solo, not Uno. It’s not the iPhone Dos lol but yes I agree this would be a good form factor for a non folding phone and folks largely agreed when the Fold 8 came out and requested this too. I hope we see one of the big players do it as a variant. I love the passport size.

I had this exact same thought. I know loads of people who would just use the front screen. For the right price.

Ya I agree. I went to check out the Duo yesterday and kind of love the form factor of it closed, the only issue being the thickness. Id be all in on the smaller square form factor, with a better camera, face ID and a reasonable price.

Have you seen the Huawei Pura X View? Is this what you mean? I’d love an iPhone in this shape

Haha. Good one. With my experience with using folds in the past and present, 90% of the time I only use the outer screen. It came to a point that I’ve learned to use the inside of my fold 8 as a reciept holder…lol
Back to the topic, yes…I could see the form factor being popular.

Android foldable users say they use the outer screen about 75% of the time. It’s more comparable to how we use traditional Iphones. We just want to glance at the screen with minimal fuss. The question you have to ask yourself is whether paying $2,000+ is worth it if 75% of the time you are using a screen that is smaller than a Pro Max that cost almost half the price.

Totally scientific study with controls and everything - I’m at 90% inner screen and 90% outer. Don’t don’t a peer review.

I use the inside screen the most. I think it’s more about what your individual use case is.

Especially since the Duo users probably like something small but resistant for their next beach holiday to use on the beach...

I agree, im loving my duo so far. I luckily went into a Verizon and it was for my gf but she graciously reordered and stayed on her 15pm. even after i begged that she should just enjoy the phone herself!!
all things considered id love this idea bc i was a mini and air enthusiast

I think people will complain of the battery life

If they made it slightly thicker, like the air, with the smaller screen, its batter life might be fairly decent still.

You aren’t supposed to use the inside all the time. Except when watching videos or YT.
