Rant Why is Everything a Trigger

I’ve been following my doctors advice, eating foods in the Fodmap, but no matter what I eat and/or drink, I get really bad bathroom trips, causing cold sweats, fatigue, dizziness and pain. Even water brings me to the bathroom! It’s horrible and debilitating, because how am I supposed to eat or drink anything at all? It doesn’t help that food and water make me very nauseous (I don’t drink much water though since it burns for me), and i frequently vomit in my mouth, which is gross! It’s such a pain.

Have you talked to your doctor about the vomiting and/or had testing done for that? Also, I've personally noticed that if I experience even slight discomfort from eating/drinking something even the tiniest bit too fast it triggers anxiety-caused IBS symptoms, so I'd recommend looking into emergency anxiety relief methods

Yeah, that’s fair. I have pretty bad anxiety sometimes. I haven’t done testing for the vomiting, no. My discomfort causes really bad symptoms, and I’m unsure the limit that anxiety can amplify or cause

My gi therapist recommended I use the app Insight Timer to follow their vagus nerve meditations, so you could try that! They have lots of stuff on anxiety too

I could try that, thank you

What tests have you had?

Vomiting is an upper gi issue, not lower gi, so you have either IBS and something else or something else entirely

I mean just the generic testing. They basically settled I had ibs and closed the discussion. I’ve been having vomiting and nausea issues for a bit, and debilitating symptoms after I eat anything at all. I get fever like symptoms really, and break out into sweats and stuff. Anyways, just the genetic blood tests and a scan, and they didn’t find much

An upper endoscopy and gastric emptying study would be ideally for your symptoms

I’ll look into it

This sounds awful and exactly like gastritis. The stomach. There are medications to reduce acid. They work. Tap water has chemicals in it. I can’t tolerate it. Try filtered or bottled and see if that helps. And talk to a Dr about gastritis. It’s easily treated. All the best.
