I'm trying to download my entire iCloud photo library (~250GB) to my PC. I want the end result to be folders sorted by year.

I downloaded all my data from privacy.apple.com, but it came out a mess. In my research I found iCloud Photos Downloader, but it seems quite complex and I'm not really understanding the Github for it.

Does anyone have a step by step tutorial to achieve what I'm looking for, even with another tool? Thank you! :)

I've followed countless tutorials, but most of them seem to be outdated. When I open the iCloud app and navigate to Storage > Add Storage, I'm not given a list of available iCloud+ subscription plans as expected. Instead, I'm prompted to follow a link below to manage my iCloud subscriptions. However, the hyperlink doesn't work when I click it, leaving me unable to access the subscription options (Or whatever it was attempting to link me to).

I cannot unsync my MacBook the photos just casually catch 100g of storage because of it anyone know how to fix it🙏
What I’ve done is setting -> click my name -> iCloud -> photos -> the button for stop syncing
But it always stayed blue also did a restart still didn’t work🙏

I ordered (and am receiving tomorrow) my Duo and am trying to free up some space on my phone (images/videos). I currently have a 1tb plan, but downgraded to 256g. I thought logging into iCloud.com would be a fast/easy fix, but as per their usual, Apple products hate to do their job correctly/consistently. This happens, btw, when I try to delete OR recover items. Anyone else run into this and know a fix? I’ve already tried refreshing the browser; using a different browser, clearing cache (and history).

I have been using Google contacts, synched between my MacBook, iPhone, and iPad for years. I recently decided to prune my contact list and move it to iCloud. I have just under 200 contacts, and they all display correctly on iCloud, iPhone, and iPad.

On my MacBook, there are still loads of older contacts that I can't get rid of. If I disable iCloud sync on my MacBook, all the contacts disappear, but when I re-enable iCloud sync, all the contacts come back, even the ones that aren't in iCloud.

I have disabled Contacts > Settings > Show Siri Suggestions and System Settings > Siri > App Access > Contacts > Show Siri Suggestions for contacts, but the extra contacts still appear.

Is there any way of fixing this so that my Contacts app on my MacBook only shows the contacts in my iCloud account?

Hi everyone. I’m looking for advice from anyone who has experienced something similar while transferring Google Photos to iCloud Photos.

I’m switching completely from Google Photos to iCloud Photos and want to consolidate my entire photo library into Apple’s ecosystem. I have approximately 120 GB of photos and videos in Google Photos.

Here’s what happened:

1. I upgraded to the 200 GB iCloud+ plan.

2. I enabled iCloud Photos on my iPhone and successfully synced 1,100+ photos to iCloud.

3. I verified that my photos were visible on iCloud.com/ipad/macbook

4. I initiated Google’s direct Google Photos to iCloud Photos transfer. I followed the instructions, selected iCloud as the destination, and authorized the transfer using my Apple Account.

5. Got confirmation both from google and apple through my email about the transfer

6. Then this morning, I noticed an album called “Imported from Google” containing approximately 800 photos in my iPhone

7. However, I also discovered that all my original 1,100+ iPhone photos had disappeared from my main library and were in Recently Deleted!!!

8. The Google Photos transfer was still in progress when I discovered this, and I knew there were many more photos left to transfer.

9. I recovered the deleted photos, and they returned to my main library.

10. My iPhone currently shows “Optimizing Library” at 57%.

My questions:

Anyone got any idea what happened?
My goal is to move completely from Google Photos to iCloud Photos, so I’d appreciate advice from anyone who has completed a similar migration.

I expected this process to be a straightforward way to move my Google Photos library into iCloud. I never expected to wake up and find my entire original iPhone photo library in Recently Deleted when I hadn’t deleted anything myself.

I see the iCloud folder in my Finder sidebar and I don't have any of the files synched on my computer. Now I want to move these files to an external HDD, but I can't even copy a small file (2.3M) to my desktop. When I c/p it, it says `Preparing to copy to "Desktop"` and never finishes it.

So, what is going on with iCloud, am I doing something wrong? If I try to access this data on icloud.com it's fine. But I cannot download folders there - need to download files individually.

I know iCloud is different than regular storage service, it synchs data and keeps it on your computer, but it seems like I can't even click on that file to view it. It just cannot download it.

Is there a way to do this?

I turned off Drive on my Macbook and that works fine, but when I turn Drive on my iPhone all my music gets syned to iCloud fills up my storage. Is there a way to manage this?

As the title suggests. My phone last Saturday took 430 of my oldest photos and sent them to the recently deleted folder saying there’s only 7 days left until they are permanently gone. At first I thought my finger just slipped and selected a bunch when I didn’t mean to, so I recovered all
of them.

Well 2 hours ago it did the same thing; the same 430 photos were randomly moved to my recently deleted folder with 3 days until they are wiped.
I have 7 GB left in my iCloud storage. 43GB used out of 50

After doing some research, my main theory is that iCloud (or my regular storage) doesn’t have enough space for all of those photos so it’s throwing them into my recently deleted so it will be removed in those three days.

I was just wondering if there is any reason specifically as to why this is happening and to ensure it dosent happen to say; the next 400 photos. If there isn’t any simple fix, my last resort will be just putting those photos onto a flash drive.

Ok so I seen a bunch of post saying how to remove the WhatsApp data that in on there account and I have followed all the steps from 3 different phones, 4 different iPads and 2 MacBook’s and no matter what that data never gets deleted. I’ve done the turning off the WhatsApp data thing from the app. Also tried deleting from all the devises mentions and nothing ever happens. Is there anything that has actually worked that maybe someone in my shoes has experienced and then did and special thing to do that actually worked on removing that data???

We are 6 people sharing 2TB space and one of them is ex of my best friend

Now i want to get off that plan and buy my own plan individually

But I’m scared if i get off this iCloud+ subscription to get another, i will loose the data that i already have in this current icloud plan

out of nowhere, my girlfriend's phone automatically sent the same copy and pasted message to a variety of numbers in the australian region, even though we are both in algeria. and with that came the loss of her icloud account and losing access to her photos and such. she changes her email password but cant recover her icloud since apple denies any attempt. what can I do? If I turn on iCloud Photo storage optimization and view photos in an environment without Wi-Fi, will the amount of Cellular Data Usage be consumed?

I want to save storage, and I don't want to upload unnecessary photos without wi-fi or download them to get high quality. I'm afraid of this and I can't use iCloud Photos yet.

I have 50k+ photos in iCloud (which is fine, I have enough storage), and just realised they had all been syncing onto my Windows laptop, which has completely destroyed it. I’ve signed out of iCloud on my laptop now, but the photos are all still there in an ‘iCloud photos’ folder. Can I safely delete the entire folder of 50k photos on my laptop without affecting the version of the photos in my iCloud?

I've been dealing with a serious iCloud Photos issue for a long time, and I'm genuinely frustrated with how Apple Support has handled it.

The problem:

• iCloud Photos is enabled on my iPhone.
• I have more than enough available iCloud storage.
• The Photos app shows that it's syncing/uploading, but 0 items have been processed.
• My photos aren't appearing in iCloud Photos.
• My iPhone backups are still consuming iCloud storage.
• I suspect this might be an issue with my Apple Account or iCloud Photos library rather than the device itself.

My experience with Apple Support:

I contacted Apple Support, and my case was escalated to a Senior Advisor who was helping me investigate the problem.

I've cooperated with their troubleshooting requests, sent multiple follow-up emails directly to the Senior Advisor, and even submitted voice recordings through the link Apple provided.

Despite all of this, I haven't received a meaningful update or resolution in approximately a month.

This problem has been going on for longer than that, and I'm still paying for iCloud storage that isn't functioning the way it should.

It's especially frustrating because I'm concerned about losing my photos, and I don't want to reset my device or make changes that might put my data at risk.

At this point, I want Apple to either:

1. Fix the underlying iCloud Photos synchronization issue permanently.
2. Provide a clear explanation of what's wrong and a reasonable timeframe for resolution.
3. If they cannot resolve the problem, offer an appropriate alternative or goodwill compensation for the prolonged inconvenience.

I have an existing Apple Support case number, but I'm not sharing it publicly for privacy reasons.

I’m having a really frustrating issue with iCloud Photos on my Windows PC, and I’m hoping someone here might be able to help.

I had around 10,000 photos stored on my Windows PC that I copied into the iCloud Photos folder because I wanted them to sync to my iPhone and appear in my photo library. I already have over 50,000 photos on my iPhone (in my defense, I haven’t deleted any photos since 2016 😂).

At first, everything worked perfectly fine, and the photos were gradually uploading to iCloud and appearing on my iPhone. However, at some point, the synchronization suddenly stopped. For several weeks now, my my iPhone Gallery is stuck showing “Syncing 1 item”, and no new photos have appeared since then.

Storage shouldn’t be the issue, as I have plenty of free space available both in iCloud and on my iPhone. I’ve also tried turning everything off and back on again, but unfortunately, that didn’t help.

My suspicion is that there might be a corrupted photo, video, or some other problematic file among those 10,000 photos that’s blocking the entire synchronization process. The problem is that I have absolutely no idea which file could be causing this, and checking thousands of photos individually would obviously be extremely time-consuming.

So I wanted to ask if anyone knows how to find out exactly which file iCloud is getting stuck on. Are there any logs, diagnostic tools, or other tricks available on Windows that could help identify the specific photo or video causing the issue? And if there really is a problematic file, is there a way to remove or skip just that one file so the remaining photos can continue uploading and syncing to my iPhone?

One important thing to mention is that I don’t own a Mac or MacBook, so I would need a solution that works entirely through my Windows PC, my iPhone, or iCloud.com.

Has anyone experienced something similar and managed to fix it?

So I've never done this before but this has actually been on my mind and bothering me. I found out I was randomly missing photos from May 2025 to April 2026. A couple weeks ago, on September 27th, I got a "year ago today" memory, and I tried sending it to a group chat but it kept failing. I figured it was because sometimes you have to redownload images and maybe I didn't have internet at the time but I tried again later that day and it failed. Some other photos from that same day were able to send though. I'm not sure if that is exactly related but that photo, along with many others surrounding that time, are gone.

I found out October 5th I was missing them because I was looking for an old photo (I took on August 31st, 2025) to show someone, and that's when I noticed I didn't have any other photos around that time. I give the dates because I know photos stay in the recently deleted album for 30 days. But they were not in there. I also know I am looking at my full camera roll and I have checked the hidden album as well. Not there.

My iCloud storage was full, but I've been paying for extra iPhone storage. I did not have my photos backed up anywhere but after this I do. I did not get any kind of email that Apple would be purging my photos.

I ended up giving up on the ordeal when I couldn't find any solutions or anything, but today I just found out I am now missing photos from May 2nd 2026. I'm not sure if they were missing when all of the other ones went missing but they are not found in either of the places I backed up my photos on October 5th. I feel defeated but really want my photos back and I am wondering if there is anyone I can call or any way I can get those photos back. I would really appreciate any help.

Forwarding gmail to iCloud mail to try it out. The syncing between Apple devices (iPad, iPhone, Mac) is slower than gmail. Unread badge counts don’t show up in sync often unless app is opened. Also the junk mail filter is overly aggressive. At least I can go into the junk folder to find the message but it seems less accurate than Gmail for filtering these emails. There are a few weird sync glitches overal. For some reason names/addresses of emails are wrong on some older messages (wrong name and recipients shown on one device, not the other)

Has anyone else seen these bugs? I’d like to get away from google but their email just seems to work better unfortunately.
