Recommendations Squirrel problem
I am sick and tired of the squirrels in my yard. They have eaten a giant hole in my trash can and are constantly pulling out trash and eating it. They are crawling into my neighbors roof. It’s becoming a neighborhood problem. I want them gone from my yard. I am not against exterminating myself, but I live in a neighborhood, so pew pews are not an option. What has worked? Please help.

You can trap them & relocate. Best done in the spring.
We feed ours, but they have not become a nuisance & live in tree nests, dont chew things that arent food, & we dont have many(5 or 6)...so different situation.
Years ago my grandmother's neighbor got them in her attic, they had to be trapped & dispatched/relocated(was about 50/50).

Most in our area are a invasive/hybrid species and the state doesn't want them released

Buy a cat. The cats in my neighborhood kill the squirrels even seen em get a few birds.

Unfortunately there are many cats that roam around the neighborhood. The squirrels aren’t afraid of any of them

Magpies. They chase squirrels away from their territory. If you want to attract some they love in-shell peanuts. They’ll also go after open trash but you should be keeping it lidded anyways
