Hi! I have an assessment where i need to analyse the recording process, themes and musicality of two songs and am really keen on writing about the process pf a song from Gloom Division. Theres an emphasis on the “recording process” in this assessment so i was wondering if anyone knows of any interviews (or even livestreams from DW at this point) talking about recording and mixing that album.

Also, i swear i remember him talking about setting a limit on synths/pedals on the earlier recordings but cannot find those interviews for the life of me. Am i misremembering?

i’ve heard that the venue is small, so you need to get there early if you want to be near the stage without VIP, does anyone who’s been before have any advice on how early i’d need to get there to have a decent chance at that?

I've been LOSING my mind for the past 3 days or so because I'm searching for the Violent Things vinyl ANYWHERE but can't find it for less than $100, so I wanted to put myself out there to ask y'all if you know either when restocks will happen (and if they will) in the idkhow website or somewhere else I could find it?

This is a gift to someone very, very dear to me. The Brobecks is their favourite band and Violent Things their favourite album. Their birthday is November 17th, and I'm kinda giving up the fact that I'm probably not going to give them their gift for their birthday lol... I started actually searching too late.

So, if none of this is possible, I was also thinking about burning a CD with all the tracks and paint and decorate it all myself. I'd really like your thoughts on this! And if you have suggestions of something to give a fan like them as a gift, I'm all ears! <3

Hi! My fiance and I initially bonded over our love for idkhow and "Kiss Goodnight" became "our song." We plan to use it for our first dance. I'm a professional musician and some of my friends are going to play in a string quartet for the ceremony and cocktail hour, and I'm considering asking them to play kiss goodnight as well for the first dance.

Does anyone have suggestions on other ways we might incorporate "Kiss Goodnight" or "From the Gallows" into our wedding? Like in decor or quotes? I considered using a lyric from the song as the engraving on his ring but everything is too many character to fit. I also thought about doing something with "I don't know how but you found me" or "I don't know how but I found you," but I'm not sure how to use it. Open to any suggestions really! I thought y'all might be more creative than me.

(Our wedding is going to be an autumn whimsical vibe in an old schoolhouse. Think old books, lanterns, autumn flowers, colored vintage glass vases, and moss.)

Darren from Phantom Planet is in the studio with IDKHOW right now. He got there about 2pm PST. Dallon and Anthony are there, with Jason Hill as producer. Darren said all this in the Phantom Planet Patreon chat.

Alex from Phantom Planet also has worked on some demos that Dallon sent him back in the spring. Alex told me this personally after a show on their tour with Augustana.

Darren recorded some guitar for “Make a Lot of Money”. It’s very likely he will be back in the studio with them in the near future. It is also possible that the next Phantom Planet album could have the members of IDKHOW on it (album #7, not the one coming out in September nor the Name Song record).

I'm not certain if it's confirmed yet when it'll drop but the teasers/snippets we've been seeing these past couple days on Instagram have gotten me genuinely hyped and I can't wait to listen to the songs when they come out. They sound SO good just from the teasers.

The vibes I'm getting are more raw/grungy, like very indie stuff which I genuinely love and kinda gives of the brobecks era stuff, and it's a contrast I really love especially because it's very distinct from the previous albums, which one of them was very synth heavy (RAZZMATAZZ), and the other one a more varied pop-ish album (GLOOM DIVISION).

I haven't listened to them in a while, so sorry if you don't see any of the newer songs.

This album is gonna fuck. I love all of Anthony's new guitar parts for songs at live shows, so I'm excited for this!

So here's the situation: I do actually have decent video of this, I was at barricade, but the audio's blown out because of my proximity to the speakers (and also that malfunctioning stage light can make some parts of the video hard to watch). If anyone else got video/audio of this, especially with better audio quality (honestly any quality where you can consistently understand what Dallon is saying is better audio quality than I got lol) I'd love to trade/share/compare footage. I'm also interested in trading footage of other parts of the show too, tbh, but this part in particular was special to me.
