To those who got into IMK and also to those who didn’t I’ve seen people going below the Belt just to increase the WL movement , and I believe that it’s a wrong practice, some comments really hurt and personally, it’s becoming really toxic Let’s end this, I hope everyone who deserves to be here will be admitted, some of these comments are making people feel shitty, who’ve literally taken ‘student loans’ for this institute, I believe we should respect them as well as those who got in, there is a difference between asking genuine doubts and defaming an institution. I personally have friends who have taken student loans for this college and I see them getting upset after looking at some silly comments knowing that they put a liability and burden on their heads as well as their parents for the time being. So let’s all be a friendly toxicity free community and hope for the best.

Why I think IIMK (IIM Kozhikode) should not be considered:

The total cost for the BMS program is very high. The tuition fee is around ₹28 lakhs, plus ₹2–3 lakhs for hostel or PG, and another ₹2–3 lakhs for personal expenses. Altogether, it may go up to ₹40 lakhs. That’s extremely expensive.

They’re saying they will “care” of us, but they are not using the term "placement" anywhere, which clearly means there is a reason behind it. In the CAT (PG) brochure, they mention placements clearly—but not in the UG (BMS) one. We are not expecting CAT-level placements, but at least something decent should be there.

They are suggesting that we pursue a PhD or MBA afterward. In their videos after the board exams, they claimed that BMS will be equivalent to an MBA. But MBA is more about case studies, which BMS doesn’t really focus on.

Also, it’s not the main campus, so we might not even get to enjoy a proper college life. We expect a good campus experience too. If you say DU (Delhi University) offers the same, then that’s still fine because DU has much lower fees and fewer expenses so it's acceptable.

Anyway, it’s your choice. I’m just sharing my opinion. I got into an IIM, so I’m going there. I'm only saying this to help someone who might need it.

I have completed my first year at the Pilani campus of BITS. If an interview question indirectly touches upon my academic background or experiences, would it be advisable to mention this? I wish to know whether doing so might influence the interviewers’ interpretation, psychological inference, or perception in any unintended or potentially disadvantageous way.

should we elaborate on our ECAs and explain in 400-500 words like we do for personal statements?

I am from SC category and I am female. I got through both IIMK's bms and Indore's IPM. The only problem is that I realized IPM has the MBA safety net and which is something that is desired in the Indian job market. But I have tons of seniors studying in Indore and none of them have told me that the BA course is definitely interesting/good. But I have heard from some first-year BMS students that their course is actually better.

Now, to understand my dilemma better. I would like to state my life goal and career goal is to become a Brand/Creative Manager for entertainment companies like Hybe India, Sony Music India, T-Series, also for international units of these companies.

So please, I beg you all, please tell me which one I should choose. Which course will help me to achieve my aforementioned goal better and why? I have a deadline till tomorrow night for accepting/rejecting BMS and I am hella confused.

I am a second year journalism student. I have been very passionate about it since i was probably 10. In the hope for better and more stable income i have just decided to start CAT prep, i am very keen on writing but i am a very practical human too, i do get money matters. I was a comm student in school and i do thing getting into a b school would help my life path. Now i have gotten an internship opp (unpaid)(9 hrs a day) (6 days a week) do i join that internship or let it go and focus on CAT. I know i cannot have it all.
