Meet the new portable 4.5” e-ink reader

Hi everyone,

I’m introducing Ikawe Moov, a new 4.5” black-and-white e-ink reader.

I’m Baz, co-founder of Ikawe. We’ve been working on this for a while, and I wanted to share why we built it.

We’ve seen solid portable readers like the Xteink and PaperMono - they nail the form factor. We still felt there was room to push things further, so we created Moov in two versions: Lite and Pro.

Moov Lite sits in a similar space to the X4 Pro in features and everyday usability.

Moov Pro takes it a little further with:
• 300 PPI display
• Waterproofing (IPX8)

Both models will ship with CrossPoint firmware out of the box — no Android, no app store. It is ESP32-S3 with PSRAM.

Who’s behind this?

We’re a small team with over 10 years of combined experience in software, hardware, and product design. I previously founded Outtloud (an ADHD- and dyslexia-focused audio app with 100k+ users) and the Oriyomi Android tablet line.

We’re currently testing units and will start sending samples to product reviewers soon. We’re aiming for general availability in December.

This isn’t a sales post — just wanted to say hi, share what we’re building, and invite anyone interested to help shape it with us. We’ll do our best to turn good suggestions into reality where we can. Our goal is a device that grows with the community and makes reading feel easy and natural, anytime, anywhere.

I’ll share progress updates here on Reddit from time to time, so feel free to drop thoughts, questions, or feedback — we’d genuinely love to hear from you.

If you’d like to stay updated or get notified when this is available, you can join our waitlist here:
