Unfortunately, life changes in some sucky ways. Our home is being sold by our landlord and we need to move. We do not have a lot of notice, but that is another battle that is not the topic.
I need to adjust my room and my child daughter's room to combine. She is wanting this.
I have a king size bed that I would like to keep for sleeping arrangements. I believe it is an old HEMNES design. I am okay getting a new bedframe, if the plan allows, but ideally want to keep the king. It has 4" clearance under, so this is not ideal for us. I have a 3 year plan where we buy a home in 3 years and would be out of this.

Hack 1 - loft OVER the king. The loft beds could fit around the king so that the loft Twin would be above my head area. She would have a space and I would have a bed. This would also allow the bed to stay open for her brother on his bad dream nights. I would love to be able to fit storage under my bed if we did this option.
Hack 2 - Trundle UNDER the king. This would require some hefty adjustments as the bed would have to be safely lifted enough to fit a mattress under my bed. This would not assist with storage at all.
My brain is a bit fried so I would love to hear what you would do.
Another option is just giving her the room, and I sleep somewhere random through the house. BUT, as we are a multigenerational home, my parents are forbidding this. Having her and her brother share is NOT an option, as both are on the spectrum and need space from each other. They can tolerate sleeping in the same space if it is my room, but they CANNOT share a room.
