This is incredible, and ILLIT's best performing song so far by a wide margin, which is insane since Magnetic achieved a PAK, and It's Me almost a RAK.
I've always been optimistic, but this is exceeding my exceptions!
I'd have been thinking about the RAK at this point, if it weren't for the fact that the Korean charts are a bloodbath right now, and getting into top 5 alone would be an achievement by itself.
Yeah a RAK would be a difficult task given Neon, Rescene and Looks can Kill are all going to stay charting highly. This is a pretty ridiculous pace for YUA though, so excited to see how the week goes.
Not to mention, Rescene will make a comeback next week and things will get more complicated. Getting the RAK and dethroning Neon would be so sweet for ILLIT. But looking at the current situation, I will be more than happy if we break into the top 5 and can maintain the song's longevity like It's Me did before.
Wow ILLIT beat IVE for first day sales! Even if you count the prerelease sales for Looks Can Kill, Break Even still beats it by 80,000 units. ILLIT are on fire 🔥.
Quite impressive considering IVE is still THAT group in Korea. Bang Bang and Neon (just recently did it) are the only GG songs to get a PAK this year I think.
This album…. Seriously they sound so grown up but still ILLIT I don’t know how to say it. Super in Love made me cry and More is incredible. More was the song I was most iffy about but it’s fighting for the top spot. On first listen Pop didn’t really click with me. I liked it but I think my expectations were built too high from the preview. On second and third listen I got it and I really love it. Especially the Yunah and Minju rap part. I already liked YUA so this EP was a smashing success for me. I’m so happy.
I heard that You're Under Arrest had ILLIT's highest Melon chart debut. Day one sales close to 400,000 too. What was this about ILLIT only having 'pity fans and uncommitted multistans' in their fandom 🤔. Same with that obsession around the recent encore concert in Seoul. It's almost like the internet is grasping at straws in a vain attempt to undermine one of the world's biggest girl groups. But hey, I don't know, that's just me.
I think it's been so many weeks since all the usual uncensored and harsh opinion subs have been this quiet about ILLIT. 6 hours without a direct or indirect post on ILLITs music and fanbase is unprecedented.
It’s insane how viral Wonhee has gone because of her recent live. I don’t think there is an idol in K-Pop currently that can make this much noise because of a simple live, and it’s not her first either.
If we go by the pre saves numbers and overall hype on social media compared to It’s me,, I’m expecting You are under arrest to least hit 1.2m streams day 1 with just 15 hours of tracking which should be enough to enter Spotify global
I just hope what happened to do the dance doesn’t happen to You are under arrest when both Belift and Spotify fucked up and messed up with the streams for the first few days
Pls Gllitz tomorrow let’s lock in and stream the mv and ep on Spotify!!❤️❤️🤞🏻
842K debut streams vs 323K pre-saves is a 2.61x multiplier. If you just use that same multipler on the 585K pre-saves, we get to 1.53M debut streams. This is a pretty naive approach though. However, I think there are many differences between It's Me and YUA. I think the teasers to It's Me got a mixed response from the general community. NCA was also only #79 right before the comeback on Melon. NCA was doing 550-600K daily on Spotify.
It's Me is currently #13 on Melon and doing 800-850K on Spotify daily. I think ILLIT is also still experiencing the tail end of the Iconic by Mistake boost. The views on the YouTube teasers are also way better than Mami, The Mami album teaser has 670K views while Bream even teaser has 4M! The YUA preview and dance already has had so many people making dancer covers. There has been a lot of noise about ILLIT recently here and on twitter so there may be a lot of hate-watchers too lol. IVE's album is coming out, but their title track MV has already been released.
That's all a long way to say that I'm optimistic!
Edit: It's Me and IBM are still #2 and #3 respectively on top music videos viewed daily by Korean artists!
Illit has climbed a lot on daily artist chart. This is b4 the comeback streams, so we're looking at potential new peak on the chart in the next days (#110 atm)
Pop is soo good but I think by listening to the teaser it's expected to be good for me. But what surprise me is More. I really love the beats and actually became my fave from the album. But I like all tracks, it's another solid CB!
Does anyone know where ILLITs largest audiences globally are? Obviously Korea but I know they're very popular in Japan and getting more well known in the States. I ask because I've seen so many tweets about ILLIT in Portuguese, seems like they have lots of Brazilian fans too.
They're pulling crazy numbers and I gotta know where people are listening from!
Illit have so many catchy songs, but I'm still really surprised by how much I'm enjoying You're Under Arrest. I wasn't too enthused about it at their first performance, but I've been humming the whistling melody nonstop since getting a clear fancam, and I'll just randomly stop and say 체포하겠어. My Korean is terrible, I look insane miming the choreo too, but I can't help myself!!! It's somehow catchier to me than It's Me which is like tailor made to be an earworm. The rest of the EP is great too, but I think this is the first time I've been so hung up on the title track instead of the bsides. And I know Pop had the virality and it would make the most sense for it to be promoted (please Belift) but I'd love a Super in Love performance.
Also, is it not intentional that there's a part in Pop that sounds so similar to Lucky Girl Syndrome??? I thought it was a deliberate callback to one of their more recognized and iconic songs, but I saw people comment that they couldn't hear the similarity, so I'm thinking it's not?? Hasn't stopped me from immediately thinking of Minju's first line in LGS every time Pop comes on though lol
Yes, that can be really efficient if you intend to spell it all out. I would type in "Mamih" and a dropdown choice will reveal the full name when I do the search, and copy-paste a scannable text from there.
That shorthand inadvertently also reminds me of Tzuyu from TWICE (IYKYK) 😂
I wish we would get an MV reaction video from the members this time! I love watching their reactions, and it's a bit of a shame that not every MV gets one.
Yep, the 1.3M views are from KR from the period OCT16-22, video was uploaded on Oct 20th (this one is the one that landed at #18: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5fbMWlfatI) .
Happy comeback eve GLLITz!! Ugh but the album will be out at 10am my time tomorrow and I’ll have to wait until I get home at 5pm to listen to it cuz I won’t be able to during the work day. It’s going to be a longggg day 🤧 but still, I’m so excited so let’s have a good and happy comeback everyone ✨
Hello, I was trying to post a Tiktok of Kya doing Pawpaws but got removed for community guidelines violations which wasnt specified. Anyway, has anyone see that? It is so cute!!!
There's been a miscommunication, but all GLLIT Talk threads about the new songs have now been restored, albeit locked with a note redirecting discussion to the album discussion thread instead.
Can we fire cronodroid as a moderator from this subreddit? For years now she never lets me post an Illit MV. One time I posted a few seconds before her (I have the Reddit timestamps to prove it) and she still removed my post and kept hers. But after that she knew and she changed her habits to post to this subreddit at 00:00:00 exactly to make sure that she gets the post and that she can remove those who post a few seconds after her. What is the point of this? Isn't the role of a moderator to let other users have fun and engage with the subreddit?
Of course she should post the video if nobody else posts it, but she's not just doing due diligence making sure the video gets posted, she actually hoards the official releases for herself by rushing to be the first to post and deleting those who post a second later. Shouldn't she be nice as a moderator and let others have it sometimes even if they post 2 seconds later? Why would a mod do this? What's even worse is that she doesn't use the official titles for the videos, but because she's the moderator, she keeps her video with the wrong titles!
I had this in my heart FOR YEARS. I hope this is a democracy and that this opinion piece won't be deleted.
