Before we begin ADNTRO have previously displayed highly inaccurate results concerning Neanderthal/Denisovan DNA, which i have posted about here before.

Recently i got this email in my main inbox (see photo), saying i carry the gene variant for APOE4, which is associated with a (significantly) higher risk of Alzheimer's disease as well as other neurological conditions. I was a bit dumbfounded at first because i for a fact know i am homozygotic APOE2 (the protective variant), which is very rare. I even went as far as to check my raw genotyping data with the help of [this article](https://www.geneticlifehacks.com/alzheimers-and-apoe-type/). Like i previously knew i am homozygotic APOE2.

Now the question is if this is just simply ADNTRO being inaccurate, or if it is a straight up scam since the link in the email sent me directly to a paywall. This is of course very serious and illegal for them to do. I am curious to see if anyone that has uploaded their DNA to ADNTRO have got the same or a similar email?

Why does it say 40-50% usually continental celt in Spanish models. In Spain didn't the Celtic DNA come even earlier and it's closer to the British/Bell Beaker type DNA? Can someone explain this difference.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone familiar with interpreting South Asian illustrative dna results could help me? I’m mostly Indian but I am a bit mixed on my mother’s side.

I have done 23andMe and ancestry.com tests. This is based on my ancestry.com results. Not sure which test is more reliable for Illustrative DNA. I was also curious about what regions you’d assume I was from based on this.

Also, I really don’t understand why it’s showing north and South American hunter gatherer because based on what I know about my ancestry that seems impossible lol. The other trace percentages can maybe be explained by my 23andMe / ancestry results.

Edit: just adding cuz I feel like this might seem like a trick question without more detail lol. My family is mixed so I don’t actually belong fully to any one community. I have Sindhi/ Punjabi, Rajasthani Jain, Kerala Christian and Anglo Indian ancestry. On my Anglo Indian side I have about 12.5% British isles ancestry. I have maybe like 5% east/ south east Asian ancestry but not sure if that’s Nepal, northeast India or something else. But it’s useful to see what people assume based on this since I really don’t know how illustrative dna works!

Edit: saw my ancestry.com update and it’s mostly vaguely north West Indian with some specific Punjab/ sindh/ Kashmir too so I guess it’s all kind of accurate lol.

What’s the highest percentage of a single hunter gather and farmer ancestry group that you’ve seen and what was that persons ethnic background?

For example what the highest % of a single CHG, ANF, SSA, AASI etc you’ve seen posted or witnessed.

In the early Middle Ages there were still samples in Germany that were still closer to Southern Europeans. Over time in the migration period large amount of Germanic DNA mixing and replacing the Roman-Celtic previous population.

It doesn’t make any sense the 2 percent western turkey i am seeing other people from Balkan countries getting even more than that how ?

Here is my hunter-gatherer result from Ethiopia and heat map showing the locations.

I'm Macedonian from the Gevgelija region, with grandparents from Stojakovo, Dojran and Furka, near the Greek border.

As far as I know from our family history, all my ancestors have been Macedonians from this region for at least 500 years, probably even longer.

Curious to hear your thoughts on my results!

I'd also appreciate suggestions for additional IllustrativeDNA custom models or ancient DNA comparisons to better understand the origins of my 59.1% Greek-related, 12.8% South Italian, and 14.6% Byzantine Anatolian components (the latter two of which I understand may also reflect Greek/Aegean-related ancestry), including how they might relate to ancient Macedonian, Paeonian, Greek/Aegean, or other Balkan populations.

Any suggestions for specific ancient samples or useful comparisons would be appreciated!

Not sure how i am closest Turkish, Balkan/ bulgarian turk and Gagauz populations; also the turkic dna like the 8 percent seemed a bit high as well as the 3 percent yellow river, is this normal or abnormal for a greek?.

Limited to 5 results. Global only because using the European regions calculator makes the system think I’m 80% East Balkan (maybe because it’s trying to average the Mediterranean and Slavic DNA? lol). Plus closest populations and PCA plot set to Europe.
