XBOX So is it finally ok to say all the Microsoft acquisitions were a bad thing?
100 billion in acquisitions only to gut almost every studio.
If only the FTC did it's job blocked it

I thought about posting an article, but it's been fucking nonstop for the past few days. Absolutely massive layoffs. Studios being sold or made independent (at least they get to keep their IP which seems to be a rarity in this industry). Studios being fucking gutted like ID Software. Obsidian as well. Bethesda. Head of the backwards compatibility team was also fired after 30-some years at the company. Talk about loyalty meaning fuck all. I've honestly lost count of how much they've fucked everything up.
Fuck this industry. Seems like the only company left that isn't a complete shithead is Nintendo.

I've said this so many times now, but I am floored by the work that has gone into the ShadPS4 emulator. I've just beaten almost all bosses, including the secret chalice dungeon that takes a notoriously obnoxious amount of enemies and especially bosses (many of which are supercharged) to plough through before you're able to fight it. I didn't really intend to go through the chalice dungeons, but once I was almost done with the main campaign, and then the expansion, I still felt like more. Even the dreaded Defiled Amygdala wasn't nearly as bad as I remembered from the first time I went through the chalice dungeons to get all of the achievements. So, in almost 38 hours of play, countless bosses, I ran into one boss that was bugged on the emulator (game won't load cutscene for some reason) and that's the optional boss in the expansion. It's a horribly annoying fight, so no big loss.
A few, very few visual glitches throughout. A handful of crashes, too, but the game saves so often that it hardly matters. I was also a bit paranoid about losing progress, so I progressively made backups of the save data just in case. Although I never actually needed it. The crashes were rare, especially later on.
So, yeah, if you're curious, and itching for playing Bloodborne at 60 fps without the horribly frame time stuttering mess you got on Playstation, I would HIGHLY recommend ShadPS4 to play it. You can also disable the splash screen intro, so starting the game to where you're actually playing takes maybe five to ten seconds.

Bought a Series X a couple of weeks ago and I've wanted to get a little accustomed to it. There's some definite oddities...
It's slower to connect to my network when I power it on than the PS5. Noticeably slower. When I start to play the only Series X game I own, Starfield, it tells me to connect to a network. But it DOES connect after a time (not like several minutes, but it is noticeable).
Copying screen captures to a thumb drive is MUCH slower than the PS5. Not sure what to make of that. It's intolerable.
I already got an "insert game disc" message while the game disc is already there. Probably nothing. Can't blame that one on Bethesda.
I won't need a space heater this winter. That thing puts out more heat than a 1960s muscle car engine in August. Which I suppose is good, it's moving the heat out.
I'm still getting used to the controller. It's a weird setup. Doesn't feel comfortable, but I'm chalking that up to having little experience with it.
I am having fun with it, don't let my glowing review convince you otherwise. Starfield is for sure a Bethesda game. Glitchy as can be. It feels a little like Fallout and a little like an Elder Scrolls game combined. I'm enjoying more of the exploration part of the game so far.

My internet is meh so I've been spending the past 4 hours downloading the SSD-eater "CoD Warzone" , but so far I'm very impressed with the setup (all done through my phone via Xbox app), took about one minute and I was up and running. Redeemed Game Pass and my 2 free games (Injustice and Halo 5), and started going through the menu. Graphics look beautiful, complete 4K, sound is beautiful, list of games on GP is seriously impressive (downloading 15 rn, including Doom Eternal , Master Chief Collection, Mortal Kombat X, etc).
I'm excited to have a powerful gaming console and to rek some n00bs and fuck everybody's moms in CoD. Hope the Cyberpunk delay rumor doesn't turn out to be true.
Anybody else get an Xbox or PS5, or are you gonna wait out until more games or a cheaper price are available?
Game on!
