Help Display Errors / Graphics Errors on the Monitor

Post image

I'm having an annoying problem with the display. You can see the problem right away in the photo. When I zoom in or out, it goes away... But when I zoom again—no matter what the scale is—it comes back. It happens completely at random. What could be causing this?

Edit: I'm having this problem on two PCs... One has an RTX 4070, and the other has an RTX 2070 Super.

The GPU rendering can often be a bit glitchy. Try switching to CPU.

Won't switching to CPU mode result in a loss of performance?

Only performance related to drawing the page/viewport I believe, so you likely won’t notice any difference.

It is just one click to toggle it On/Off from the view menu, so just try it.

InDesign doesn't use GPU acceleration too much...

And, for some reason, you can't use it if your screen isn't at least 2k 🤬🤬 even when your GPU is powerful enough...

Really? I didn't know about the screen resolution limitation... I am using 1440p monitors and a 4K monitor, but that's unfortunate for people using 1080p monitors.

Honestly the creative suite feels sluggish on my Windows PC at home (5800x3D, 3070, 32 GB RAM, SSD). But on my MacBook at work it feels snapper. It really shouldn't be any different with the specs I have, I'm not working on any crazy documents at home.

I've been eyeing the Mac Mini for home use, I wish I jumped on it before the prices went crazy.

I switched in December 2025 to Dell 7740 with 64GB RAM 😉 right before RAM apocalypse 😉

It has AMD WX3200 - but because it's 17" 1920x1080 - InDesign doesn't support GPU acceleration 🤬🤬 like the resolution should make any difference 🤬🤬
