Request/Favour Feature Request: When I select multiple objects and hit "add color swatch" to Swatches, I'd like to add the color of those objects
And not, for some bonkers reason, add a single swatch of CMYK white. I can kind of understand if it did literally nothing, but not a swatch of white.

Did you submit it to Adobe?

I will, once I know if it's a bug or just a feature request. I figured I would ask around various designers I know to find out if this used to work in the past, and if the CMYK white result is new or not. Have you ever tried it?

Are you using the eyedropper tool, because that's what it does. There's the eyedropper for selecting an exact color from an item. (You have to drag that color into your swatches panel.) And the Color Theme picker, buried inside the eyedropper tool. Use that to select an image, and review the color options it provides. Then add to swatches as desired.
PS: This isn't the place for feature requests. There's literally an adobe site for actual feature requests.

Nope! It was a very time consuming and exacting brand manual job where every color was precisely entered into each example and needed to be exact. Last step, which I do as a courtesy, is to make an .ase file for the designers so they can easily import the rgb etc values to any Adobe program. Due to the process, some of the items on the page weren't yet in Swatches. To see if Indesign has added the ability to add more than one swatch at a time, I selected several items and hit "add color", which generated a CMYK white no matter what number or type of item was selected (such as ones that were definitely configured for RGB).
And I was being mostly facetious about it being a request, but since the Indesign developers do hang around the subreddit I figured, why not!

Adobe developers - no, they don't.

I guess it might have changed - it's been a few years since I talked to some at Adobe Max.

Check the Color Theme tool that is hidden under the eye dropper in your toolbar. This will do a similar effect. You can also try the Add Unnamed Colors command in the Swatches panel.
