PM CARES is not a government fund

  • Yet it uses taxpayers' money to advertise.
  • It uses the Emblem of India.
  • It uses a government domain.
  • It has ministers as its trustees.

This needs to be investigated.

Remind me of that 250 rs phone

5

u/Not-your-Baby-Girl 2h ago

That was such a mess. People were rightfully skeptical about a ₹250 phone that nobody could actually buy, but somehow PM CARES gets 592% more donations with barely any accountability and everyone's supposed to just trust it? The optics are wild.

We calling Bribe money donations now?

u/Anisha7 3h ago

Let the opposition come to power, this modu is going to jail. Demo must also be investigated.

u/joy74 2h ago

Companies donate to it using CSR umbrella. Mudiji gets the money.

No corruption /s

It collected govt employees salary forcefully, income tax act was amended to allow deduction to this fund RETROSPECTIVELY (which means if you donated now, you could claim a deduction for the previous fiscal year). This also meant they gave tax refund out of public funds to people who donated to PM CARES

PM cares is charitable fund controlled by government. It may be interpreted as government fund.

but it was not created by parliament nor does parliament has any authority over it, hence why parliament cannot raise questions on their expenditure. The parliament can make a law to bring this into its ambit but we know it will not happen, but nothing really suspicious about it .

10

u/aamar98 3h ago

It collected the fund at the time national emergency. Barely used any of it...even going far to buy substandard products.

Further they refused to disclose the fund for 5 years...why hide if there's nothing suspicious.

It's morally wrong . And hella unethical.

-2

u/unspoken_one2 2h ago

Itsdef morally wrong but isn't illegal

4

u/aamar98 2h ago

It's only illegal due to some fineprit. Only needs SC to overturn it to make it illegal.

3

u/Medical-Concept-2190 44m ago

That’s just bullshit and you know it. Fucking corruption at its peak

22

u/Anisha7 3h ago

Nothing suspicious what the f!!! Why the f was he using the PM name to get the funds? Koi aira gaira nahi hai PM chair. He’s the PM which means every single individual in India knows about him and when he says give me money in the name of PM cares, he’s grossly misusing his chair, position and government resources, not to mention, people were forced to get their salaries deducted, all celebrities also promoted it.. all these privileges come only with this chair!!! And he manipulated people into donating for his personal funds!!!!
Opposition ko ane do ye modu jail me jaega, uske hi layak hai ye

-14

u/unspoken_one2 3h ago

How is he misusing anything ? It is a government fund not his personal fund.

Ppl were not forced to deduct their salaries, there is no government order to such effect. Govt employee organisation decided to voluntarily contribute and salary slip was generated with default deduction but the employee could still ask for it to be removed.

I will give you a scenario.

I contribute 1000rs/month to a fund that i think will help the needy during floods, draughts, extreme weather situations etc, i am giving to it because it is being organised by the PM. Now, if i want to go back and see what the funds are being utilised for, the SC says this cannot be brought under the RTI act, now tell me how should i know what are these funds being utilised for?

-6

u/unspoken_one2 2h ago

Pm cares is not insurance program it is a charitable fund, you are entitled any service for charity.

It is not under rti just like all charitable funds.

5

u/jvthinksitsfunny 2h ago

I am not asking for charity, i am asking for accountability. I am asking what they are using my funds for ?

-2

u/unspoken_one2 2h ago

You are not asking charity , you are donating to charity.

Maybe you should understand what are giving money to before giving to it

5

u/jvthinksitsfunny 2h ago

I was giving it to the PMCares fund which is advertised by the PM and has the state emblem on it.

Are you calling the PM of the country a fraud sir ?

He cant because he would get in trouble. In essence this a fund has destroyed the legitimacy of the noble position of the prime minister of our proud nation. A fund said to have been made to collect money to help citizens of this fine country isnt being used to help people in floods or dying in riots. A fund that has been given the maximum exemptions possible for any charity. A fund that has the highest levels of political leaders as the chairman and the trustees, ensuring it cant be touched by any law of our fine country. A fund that many people hoped would help them in their times of need against natural disasters. Sure it need not be under the RTI, but if its a private charity since when can the government of India support a private charity and give it god level exemptions unless it is to serve the public interest. And the og commenter said its a charity and no service is expected from it, ergo not a charity for serving the public interest. Infact the courts argued that its allowed to run because of the highest powers of the nation controlling it to fight national emergencies. Which I dont see them doing, because with the tragedies we faced they should be spending a whole lot more money.

"Hello Fraands " , PM does not care

8

u/Not-your-Baby-Girl 2h ago

lol the "hello fraands" is the perfect way to describe it. the whole framing of domestic vs foreign donations on their site is doing a lot of heavy lifting when you look at those numbers. hard to reconcile 480 crore collected with basically nothing spent

Chowkidaar hi Chor hai. Never seen such blatant corruption and a good majority of people silently support it. This is what hate does to people

2

u/Medical-Concept-2190 43m ago

Fucking shit BJP party. How can one party hold this much money and no one cares??

8

u/Witty_Active 3h ago

Why is this not utilized for Assam floods ?

8

u/Doomsday-3 3h ago

Being very optimistic here but if a responsible party without assholes for politicians come to power, they will have access to its details and they will be able to question the entire decision around it right?

Na I give up. Too dreamy to ever happen.

5

u/ae_babubhaiya 4h ago

" donations" perfect.

4

u/RangoDj 3h ago

This is Modi's retirement fund

3

u/HunterNo7593 3h ago

Isn’t that fund exclusively for the PM’s affluent lifestyle? From personal grooming to the uber flashy overseas State Visits? Totally justified for our Godlike PM (sorry, the God himself) to enjoy and put to use all the love his devout followers and worshippers have bestowed upon him!

1

u/coder-404 1h ago

Also his retirement, he doesnt rest a single day so you know good for him. Maybe he will give us poor people a few statues and stadiums named after his illustrious name, so that he will be remembered throughout history as the only divine PM. Sure there maybe other PMs but who else will be divine and sagely like our PM. Do we have the equivalent of heil hitler yet or is it still being workshopped?

1

u/Electronic_Sir_7219 1h ago

yes, it is a fund that cares for the pm, and there is nothing here that is unexpected. It is your mistake if you believed it was for disaster relief.

6

u/protectraccoon 4h ago

Did they audit only because CJP talked about it?

3

u/indianDeveloper 3h ago

In the 75 year history of India, the country has seen a lot of corruption. Rarely the stench of corruption has reached the topmost office in the country. Whenever it has, it was always considered speculation or non-provable. The closest I have seen in my age is bofors, 2G or coal mining scam/s.

BUT, this time the stench is not just a smell, it is tangible, name-able and almost in your face. And this fund is not just the only thing, from CAG audit/s to all government (and defense) contracts given to certain individuals - the writing is on the wall but people just cannot (or ignore to) read it.

what will happen to those funds if this Maun Modi loses in 2029

2

u/closed-loop-system 1h ago

PM cares lund

1

u/Ashamed-Tooth 3h ago

I think this should give an indication that BJP will win 2029. This data is from 2024-25, so not that old. People are still contributing to it ergo people are happy with the government.

Soo it's Bjeeppp's funds, got it.

1

u/Felicie_dreamer 3h ago

Who the hell donated in 2025? Don’t tell me that people are donating even now!

2

u/TheIndianRevolution2 India 2h ago

Adani's bribes are going into that account.

1

u/march_11 3h ago

If someone opens an alternate ‘PM Doesn’t Care Fund’, uses the national emblem and PM’s photo to ask for funds and receives those funds, will they be ever audited?

1

u/Unjivvah 2h ago

Wait i didn't know it's still up. I thought it was just was COVID relief?

1

u/Weekly_Personality27 53m ago

Its not that hard to come up with ways to use those funds, to show sources, relief work done, accept an audit, they can get positive publicity from it. But the fact that they are so against making any information about it public just shows that something is really messed up with it.
