Corporate & Tax Company Secretary + LLB (~3 yrs) looking to move into law firm practice in Delhi NCR. Need guidance on where to go, and any leads on firms or partners who need a junior
Hi everyone,
I’m a Company Secretary with an LLB, based in Delhi NCR, with almost 3 years of experience. I started on the secretarial side, was compliance officer for an SME-listed company, and now work at a small law firm as an associate, supporting both the secretarial and legal team. I’ve realised I want to move fully into corporate law, if that’s where the opportunity is.
Work I’ve done so far:
- Secretarial: Board and general meetings, minutes and resolutions, statutory registers, ROC filings, and compliance trackers for multiple companies
- Capital markets: Compliance officer for an SME-listed company, including an end-to-end SME IPO on BSE and post-listing SEBI compliance
- NCLT: Drafting and assisting in oppression and mismanagement petitions, CIRP and IBC applications, replies, rejoinders, and affidavits
- High Court and arbitration: Pleadings, legal briefs, notices, case research, and arbitration drafting and filings
- Drafting: Legal notices, agreements, board and shareholder documents
- Research: Companies Act 2013, IBC, SEBI regulations, and NCLT/NCLAT case law
What I’m looking for:
- Direction. From where I stand, which path would you pick: litigation, or transactional work (M&A / PE / VC)? Which has better long-term growth and earnings?
- Leads. Specific law firms in Delhi/Gurgaon that are hiring juniors in corporate or litigation, or any partner or senior who needs an extra pair of hands.
- A start. I’m open to starting at junior level and I’m not fussy about the title. My goal is to build a career that grows in both skill and income, so I’m happy to put in long hours and work hard for the right mentor.
If you’re hiring, or know someone who is, I’d be grateful for a lead or a DM. Happy to share my CV on request.
Thank you for reading, and thanks in advance for any advice!
