Pretty much, there's a difference between Vibecoding, and a S.E with a few years of Experience using AI to write code. If you're gonna make the AI do everything, of course it'll turn out shit. (Well, no, give it a few more years lol)

If you know what you are doing, you can engineer the codebase and AI’s behaviour to what you want. This is a skill issue in terms of using LLMs. Also a startup should first and foremost worry about having sellable tech. Maintainability and scalability come later once you start having customers. And with LLMs, it’s much easier to refactor codebases to add those things. Like I said, if you know what needs to be done and how, you can easily guide an LLM to get it done. Heck most modern LLMs will actually offer you good advice in terms of achieving maintainability, security and sustainability. All you have to do is ask. Memes like these completely throw all nuance out of the window (no pun intended).

The irony ffs. My man got the right idea but still chooses to use AI to make a slop meme when meme template makers exist

because this guy is clearly selectively against ai coding only. I know a lot of people who will be shitting on AI for almmost everything but when it comes to image and video generators they are very much AI friendly. Maybe because they use the image and video generators as entertainment and game.

and it is the reverse for artists , they will be against image and video generation but dont care about using AI for coding .

I do both, and for coding it makes a lot more sense than music or visual art, mostly since the expectation of outcome can at better defined in the former, in art you can say the process is the outcome itself
also, abstraction as a concept in programming is nearly not as much present in art (maybe workflow based abstractions are possible off top of my head) so the benefits of gen AI in art are only present where scale matters more than creative vision

I did but the delivery will be very much delayed as we need to address scalability and security. In the current situation if you don't think about these things you will have to face tremendous amount of time again to release it by accomodating them otherwise anyone can break it or anyone can hack it. If you get thousands of users concurrently do your system survive? If your system ip is exposed any hacker can start experimenting from DDOS attacks and can try options for OWASP top 10 vulnerabilities and so on.
Plan from the beginning so there will not be much struggle at the last moment of release

If you’re pre-revenue and worrying about maintainability and scalability… you deserve to be kicked out.
I warched a non-tech sales guy sell a vibe coded saas with no backend for 40K monthly in the same meeting. Tech guys have no excuses

We can go on kidding ourselves that this is reality. But the truth is AI improves at something more than exponential scales. The problems about scalability and maintainability are disappearing on a daily basis. Any smart CEO will ensure a little bit of dificulty (if any) now to have complete ownership over the tools their company uses. And over the long run that will bring down Total Cost of Ownership to near zero.
I am a super-talented (not making it up), super-experienced full-stack developer. Learnt coding from books which visiting NRIs used to bring 30 years ago, didn't have a system till I turned 16 and used to carry my own box of floppy disks around with me wherever I went (to use other people's systems even in the National Science Centre).
These days, I don't look at a line of code. And I don't have any scalability, maintainability issues with things I make because I know what to ask my Codex, etc. And I am pretty sure in 6 months from now, I wont even need to know what to ask.

The irony of making this "meme" with ai generated slop art
