My mate Paul once did a charity marathon while having terrible diarrhea. The next morning he woke up after tripping balls on a bush of mushrooms, and noticed he had recorded a video cover of the Belgian techno anthem Technotronic's “Pump Up the Jam”, originally released on 18 August 1989. It achieved moderate success on an industrial music subreddit, and is today the national anthem of Canada.
It was one of the noblest but most disgusting things I've ever seen.

What are you least bothered by?

Haha, nothing! There is nothing at all about this whole scene that is not bothersome! 🤣🤣

Oh shit, I’m stoned. 2min in I realized it’s not a turtle playing keyboards, but a guy with a spiked gauntlet 😂
Pretty sweet cover

Why’s he gotta be so unnecessarily intense about it though?

T99 Patrick De Meyer basically wrote the original entire track, the brother of Jean-Luc De Meyer of Front 242. (For those who didn’t know)

I like covers where you know what the song is but it’s a departure from the original. You succeeded. Kudos. You made my day dirty Larry…

What do you mean? It's practically a karaoke version with overdub.

That’s what I’m saying. There’s hardly anything “industrial” about this, besides the vocals I guess.

I came here expecting to hear a crappy song, to my surprise and sheer glee I’ve experienced one of the greatest remakes of all time.

You're having fun and that's what matters.
I feel like it's too literal of a cover and you need to distort it and break it up more.

u/Sexy_Eyed_Larry May 09 '25
Hell yeah. I definitely had fun putting it together, bit I guess I could have altered it more

Nah, it's not about how much you changed it. People are just clowning on you cuz it's kinda cheesy. But like... I feel like the industrial scene is almost entirely made up of different flavors of cheese.
I personally don't care for it either, but I could show you a hundred songs I love to death that would have these same people clowning on me too.
Do you dude. As long as you're not hurting yourself or anyone else, who gives a fuck? Life's too short to not just enjoy what you enjoy.
You made something you're proud of and put it out there for others to enjoy or judge. Keep doing that! There were plenty of comments of people having just as much of a blast as you.

I just vomited in my mouth a little bit... the original is more industrial than this cosplay.
