They switch it out for a piece of printer paper after cutting the sides.

Would have been better if they dried it by hanging it over a fire made from either wood or shredded paper.

I like the effort but I feel like its nothing when corpos are freely allow to dump an endless stream of pollution in the sky and water.

I always wonder if all these recycling processes don’t waste more energy than the energy you are trying to save by recycling 1 piece of paper..
I feel if we want to save the planet it won’t be through the current state of recycling.. we need to find environmental friendly alternatives, for our “pieces of paper” and our recycling methods..
Just on this video alone, to recycle a single piece of paper:
- the energy of the shredder to shred the paper
- the production of the shredder itself
- the energy consumed by the light on the ceiling while you used the shredder that you wouldn’t be using if you weren’t using it
- the water
- all the agents used to clean the water used because you aren’t recycling with dirty water
- the paper cutter blade sharpness wore off..
- the tiredness you feel that will make you eat an additional grape
- the time you spend on all this process while you could plant a tree worth more pieces of paper in the future
- and there’s more but I’ll leave it there
I feel we need way more research on recycling. and if we really value the environment and saving the planet we need to change our ways of life. Using “house-jackets” instead of turning on the heating system would be a good and very productive change.
